Ok we are leaving in just 16 more days!!! Here is my dilemma. We booked our package at the Poly (have never been there before) , but now a room at GF is open and I have always wanted to stay there. It is a bit more money though (which is why we haven't stayed there yet), but maybe it is worth it? We have three kids (all elementary school age). What is your preference and why. I appreciate all the info I can get. Im sure I'll need to make a decision fast!! :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Boy--that's a tough one. We have stayed at both. Tomorrow we return to the Poly. I didn't consider going back to the GF for this trip. What brought me back to the Poly is the relaxing, peaceful atmosphere around the grounds. At the end of a busy day in the parks, we found that to be so welcome. The tiki torches are lit and there's music all around. I understand that the vocano pool is great -- it wasn't there on our last visit. Really looking forward to using the pool.

The GF is wonderful, no question. The pool area has also been done over since we were there but I don't know what it's like. We really liked GF Cafe. I just prefer the atmospher over at the Poly.

The time we stayed at the Poly we were going to stay at GF but it was booked. The CM suggested the Poly as an alternative. We were not disappointed.

Hope that helps. Have a great time!

I love the GF. I have stayed Poly LVconcierge, and was underimpressed.

The GF is charming and the CMs are friendly. The pools at the GF are nicer and larger than the Poly pools. Gasparilla's (fast food place) is much nicer than the one at the Poly. The game room at the Poly had broken, old & dirty games. The one at GF is nicer. The game room & pools are important to them. My kids prefer the GF over the Poly any day. (5, 9, and 15)

I have stayed at almost all the deluxes and the Poly just didn't do anything for us. (just my opinion, I know some just love the place) We love Hawaii and that whole atmosphere, but the CMs at the Poly were less then friendly and the pool is small and very crowded. The decor just doesn't do anything for me, either. The GF is just gorgeously decorated for Christmas, too. I am so excited to be returning soon! :sunny:

We leave for our trip in 2 weeks. I made some adjustments to the tail end of our trip today, and my husband gave me the choice of adding 4 poly concierge days or 2 GF days and I chose 2 GF. ;) He was happy with my decision as he doesn't like the Poly too much, either, but he was looking at the bottom line $$$$.... :earboy2:

Happy planning! Too many choices..... :flower:

Oh! I know how you feel. I have had this trip planned for over a month and thought I was settled on BWI/CR concierge split (kids complete favorite) until yesterday. I just started feeling antsy and wondered if I would feel like I was WDW satisfied without a stay at the GF!! I changed the plans this morning to dump the CR and do GF instead. I just love that place, too. I didn't think I could stand on my CR balcony and stare across the lake at my wonderful GF and stand not being there!! :guilty:

My 15 yr old is a bit disappointed as he is the only real CR fan in our family anymore. GF is kind of feminine for a 15 yr old teenage boy. ;) My girls and I are jumping for joy!! :Pinkbounc My husband will be, too, after he gets over that RPC sticker shock! :earboy2:

Take care & happy planning. I know the Poly is a favorite of so many.
