We just returned from a 7 day stay at Yacht Club and want to start planning our next trip for August of 2014. We are going to try for a 10 day split stay with the first part of the Stay at BWV. We aren't sure which MK resort we want to stay in. DS will have just turned 9 and DD will be 6 at the time of the trip if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance for your help!

We haven't stayed at the CR, but we love the Poly. The tropical atmosphere is beautiful, the volcano pool is awesome as it backs up to the beach with a distant view of the castle while swimming, the beach is great for relaxing in a hammock while watching the fireworks, and Captain Cooks is great for CS meals/snacks. The Poly is not only convenient to MK, but it's just a 5-7 minute walk to the TTC to catch the Epcot monorail.

Poly would be my first choice, too (we'll be trying it sometime for sure!)--BUT it is going to be undergoing construction for DVC next year. I don't know what is out there in terms of specifics, but if i were to stay there i am not sure next year would be the year until I knew more about what was happening and what the time frame would be.

love them both!

that say own at BLT - so in most cases BLT or CR would win for me. - You can walk to the MK. the only resort/hotel that you can.

now the Polyn is lovely - the atmosphere there is probably the best - with them rehab the entire resort - it might not be so wonderfully.

good luck.pixiedust:

CR for me over the Poly, having never been a Poly fan I like the close proximity of the MK to the CR. Walking to MK is great , also just like the look of the concourse with the monorail going through! It's kind of a sentimental favorite for my family because it was the first resort we stayed at many years ago.

Personally, CR appeals to me more, but with younger kids I would also say CR. The Poly theme is cool, but when I was little, themes were lost on me and nothing was cooler than the monorail going through your hotel. Also being able to walk back from the MK can't be beat.

Sounds like us! We did YC in April and are looking at Poly or CR for next August. :goodvibes

For us, Poly is the first choice, but because of the DVC rumors and virtual unknowns regarding construction at the resort, we are leaning towards CR. I don't want to pay that kind of money to see and hear construction.

I remember riding the monorail into GF and thinking about how mad I'd be if I was paying that much money to look at the construction site.

Stayed all three monorail resorts & we really like all of them it's our fave area to stay in.

Poly- the tropical theming is beautiful & relaxing, the view is fantastic! Best views in property! You can see MK, GF, CR during the day it's do nice but at night it's breath taking! Love Wyland Galleries, you can get some one of a kind Jewelers w/I breaking the bank & DH gets Hawaiian shirts from Boutiki while I get sundresses ( got two for $20 a piece!) The CL is cozy and staff is friendly!

GF- top notch service, gorgeous resort, your in MK in less then 5 min once you board monorail! Loved SL CL, yea lounge a but small but I lived their food offerings, they have a lot more protein in their breakfast offerings..

CR- use to not like this resort at all felt it had a airport feeling, but after staying here first time, we fell in love with the rooms, the location! Also it's a bit cheaper then Poly or GF. I hear the MK views are great here as well..

ASMU/POR Dec 16-22, 2012 & CR Sept 8-15, 2013

We are staying at the Poly in August and are beyond psyched. That being said, if I book a bounce back it will be for CR as I dont want to pay outrageous prices to be staying at a DVC construction site in 2014 :(

You got a tough decision there... We've done all three.... GF, never to return to... Just wasn't our style for the big money.. no ambiance!

CR, we cut our teeth here for many a trip early on in our WDW vacations ...we we quite fond of the north garden wing... But changes thru the years made us look elsewhere for a resort...

Poly, what can I say... Remarkable resort, ambiance, charm, beautiful views.... But it comes with some unwanted baggage.... Cost is ridiculous, volcano pool is too small for the resort but the main issue for me is the cost.... Overpriced!

So, lesser of 3 evils and throwing out the GF, just on principle.... Choice between Poly and CR... CR wins on walking to MK, coolness of monorail going thru it, cheaper rooms in the wings..!
