I haven't stayed at either (yet). I usually stay at the Contemporary, but I decided to do a split stay. I'm at Beach Club first to cover Epcot, AK, and HS. I'm also taking an "off day" at BC since the pool area is the best and I can walk on down to the boardwalk if I get bored of the pool for some Ample Hills Ice Cream or stay on property and go to Beaches and Cream. I wouldn't want to stay only at the BC since I want to go to the restaurants at the Contemporary, GF, and Poly and I like being close to the MK for the tail end of the trip.
I'm actually doing a split stay between the two this August, 5 nights at each. If I were only doing one I would probably pick the BC. Epcot is our favorite park and the kids love SAB.
We've done a split between Poly and BC. My kids preferred the BC. The pool is amazing. My son was 15 and is a loner but he played volleyball in the pool for hours each day with other kids.
The monorail isn't always a reliable mode of transportation but the walk to Epcot can't be beat.
We are also doing a split stay next August. We really love the Poly, but wanted to try something new too. So we're doing 3 nights at BC and 9 nights at Poly.
poly. bigger rooms, monorail, walkway to ttc to epcot, view of the castle across the lagoon, trader sams, walkway to the grand Floridian, tiki torch lit walkways at night, just the feel of the resort is classic Disney magic.
Oh, the bolded sentence says it all for us! We have stayed at Beach Club a few times and enjoyed it. But the classic Disney feel can't be beat at Polynesian - with the electric water parade alone. Such sweet nostalgia.
