Poly or Beach Club??

I love the Poly. But am seriously wishing I had booked Beach Club for our upcoming trip. Still might switch. It's just so last minute now for me. I'm just kinda shocked at the crowds that Trader Sams is going to bring in.

We are planning a trip for October and cannot decide between the Beach Club or the Polynesian. We stayed at the Beach Club last September and LOVED it, especially being able to walk into Epcot, but I have always wanted to try the Polynesian. Just wondering what people think who have stayed at both.

Thanks!

We had a similar dilemma last August, we had booked an eight night stay and had difficulty deciding between The Yacht Club & The Polynesian. So we did a split stay - four nights at each.

It was perfect. We started at the YC and did our Epcot & Hollywood Studios days while there. Moving to the Poly was a breeze, a taxi ride over & all checked in room was ready at 10:15am - breakfast ADR at 10:30 at 'Ohana. Then off to the Magic Kingdom.

Loved both resorts, wouldn't hesitate to do another split stay, I'm actually planning right now for the same or very similar split for January 2016!

As you can see from my signature line, I love both resorts.

Poly is a monorail ride to EPCOT's front door. And of course, MK.

BC is a walk into World Showcase and a boat ride to HS.

So. Both have easy access to two parks.

Kona is one of my favorite restaurants and at Poly, you have easy access to all the monorail restaurants. BC gives you convenient access to EPCOT for eats.

Both have great pools.

Both are beautiful. Both have just had major work done on them.

Bottom line. Both are great resorts and both have advantages. I think you'll be happy at either.

We stayed at Poly in 2012- it was amazing.
Trying BC this August as part of my 'stay in all the resorts' challenge.
Yes, I am that much of a nerd.

Also the pool at BC looks too good to pass up.

Thanks so much for the info. I had been trying for the woods view. It's odd to me that they would EVER sell a room at a room only rate. It should either be available or not. Thanks for ending the mystery!
You're welcome!! I was able to get a wood/garden view at the Yacht Club instead if that helps you out.

Thanks everyone for the advice!!! We have settled on the Yacht Club (BC view we wanted was unavailable). It's just us adults this trip so we couldn't pass up being able to walk into our favorite Epcot :). Thanks again!!

Love the Beach Club it's our favorite. We would choose that over anything else every time. Staying at the poly April 3-8 because we could not get the Beach Club. We are looking forward to staying at a monorail resort for the first time. I like the EPCOT resorts because it allows us to skip the busses for everything except AK so I'm hoping the poly works as well. Plus it will be nice to check out the renovations.

There's going to be a lot of buzz (causing prices to stay high) around the Poly due to the new rooms and other construction going on, and it's possible that there may still be some form of construction going on in October.

I've stayed at Poly and Beach several times, and they are both great experiences. I recommend staying at the Beach Club again, and while you are there, take a few hours and walk around the new grounds/lobby of the Polynesian to see what you think about it. Ask to see what the new rooms look like. In my opinion, the new Poly lobby is lame compared to the fountain that used to be there. However, if you're a foodie, the Poly options are leaps and bounds better than what's offered at the Beach (and Yacht) Club.

My fiancé and I had this same conundrum when we were planning our honeymoon. We ultimately decided upon the Beach Club, mostly due to the amount of construction going on at the Poly. Neither of us have stayed at the Beach Club, but we've both stayed at the Poly with our families as children. Maybe next time we'll give the Poly a try. If you don't mind any potential construction and the price is right, I vote the Poly, but I am very excited for the Beach Club. Wow, it really IS hard to choose just one! haha

FYI, I just checked this morning and was able to get a standard room at the Beach Club for 10/26-10/31 so it pays to keep checking :) Hope things work out for your trip.

Wow, I just price checked and it's an extra $1000 for my trip now if I have the different view. Crap. Now I feel like I'm back to square one.
