I am hoping someone out there can help me make a difficult decision. I am booking a trip this September to take advantage of the FTP. I am spending 7 days on DCL then onto WDW. I am trying to decide whether to spend 7 nights at AKL in a savannah room or 5 nights at the Poly in a standard room. (7 nights are unavailable for our travel dates at the Poly). Both are exactly the same price. We have never stayed in either but sounds like both are incredible. The travel party consists of me, DH, DS(5), DD(4) and DD(1). We have stayed at POFQ on previous visits and want to try something different so we narrowed it down to AKL and Poly. Help anyone??? My kids would love to see the animals especially from their room, but they also LOVE to ride the monorail. Also thinking about having to take a bus everywhere with a little one. HELP!! Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!!

Isn't the fairytale package over now? I thought you had to book by June 28th? 29th?

Well - I hope it is still on for you - but better book soon -

I would pick AKL in a heartbeat, a totally unique resort experience, your little ones will love the animals - the transportation to the parks is very efficient. There are lots of dining options and a great pool.

Have fun planning your trip

I have stayed at Poly. concierge, and AKL pool view, and would pick AKL hands down. It is a vacation in itself. We also found the transportation to be great, and we were there for 10 days.

Sorry to disagree with everyone so far, but I would go with the Poly. We have stayed at AKL and Poly and hands down Poly is our favorite. While AKL is very nice, we like the Poly for the following reasons, Monorail will take you to MK and Epcot or any Mk resort (except WL), great pool with the volcano water slide, its on the lake and can see the water parade from the beach or maybe even your room, you can see the MK fireworks complete with music, the romantic tiki torches lighting the walkways, and the rooms are huge as well as the bathroom.

When we are at the AKL, we seemed so far from everything and we had to wait forever on the busses. I certainly don't want to put AKL in a negative light because it is a lovely place and the restaurants are wonderful - even the quick serve (Mara) but my opinion still favors Poly.

On the other hand, if you can stay 2 more days at AKL, go for it.

I have to decide today because the FTP ends today. My travel agent has been wonderful and patient while I am trying to decide. I love to hear everyone's thoughts and only wish I could split our time at both. So far I have been able to come up with pros and cons for both and neither is outweighing the other. The countdown is on, I only have a few more hours and would love any more input on the subject. I do thank those who have already responded too!!!

We were able to split our stay between the two last Christmas. We loved the Poly. Our kids were 3 and 5 and the monorail cannot be beat. Such easy assess to MK and Epcot. They enjoyed the volcanoe slide as well.

Our kids really did not enjoy AKL. They really weren't intrigued with the animals, to my surprise! Their big thrill were the bunk beds! The pool was nice.

We really enjoyed the restaurants at AKL, they were fantastic, but you can always bus it over to enjoy the Boma experience!

Good Luck in your decision making!
