Poly-no hot tub-please help convince me

I am trying to decide where to stay for our next trip. We really want to stay at the Poly because we never have and because it looks very tropical.
BUT, I really really enjoy having a hot tub. I just can't get myself to get over the idea of not have a hot tub.
Please help me want to stay at the Poly. My DH and kids want to stay there, but I just keep thinking "No Hot Tub".

AKL is my favorite but I really think I want to stay somewhere else.

I'm planning to LOVE the Poly, but it sounds as though it may not be the right place for you. (THough there are hot jets in the pool from what I understand)

Have your considered the Contemporary or the Grand Floridian?

I'm known as the hot tub queen in my home. I love having a hot tub at any hotel we stay at. Now that I said that, I love the Poly! I didn't miss the hot tub at all. This resort has so much to offer. I think you should go for it and enjoy your stay.

We love hot tubs as well, We had one for about ten years when we lived in Nebraska (an outdoor one and we had to chip ice off the cover on a few occasions). We've stayed at the Polynesian and really liked it. We knew there was no hot tub when I booked. that's just one smal thing in the scheme of everything. My husband forgot about the hot tub situation until we got there and I rememinded him. He said "what?" and then shugged and said we'd find other things to do.

How long do you typically stay in a hot tub? Is that amount of time enough for you to not stay somewhere? For us, we thought the hammocks were a very nice alternative. As was the beach. As was the view of the fireworks from Magic Kingdom. As ws being able to walk over to the Grand Floridian and see the Wedding Pavilion up cose. As was being able to walk to the TTC and get on the monorail.

It's up to you but the lack of a hot tub can be overcome with different thinking.

Why is there no hot tub at the Poly? If the moderates can have them, it seems weird they would not. It just reinforces the (IMO correct) view that Disney Deluxes are not 'true' deluxe hotels.

The Poly does have a Hot Tub Area in the Volcano Pool and when we were there last Aug. it was wonderful. I loved sitting in that area, it is built into the pool but is an Alcove and has a seat all the way around w/ jets and when sitting you have a wonderful view!!!! Really can't be beat IMO!!!!!!

The seat area in the Poly pool isn't really a hot tub, there's no hot water coming out of the jets, and a picture wouldn't really show you anything, its just an area by the pool slide that looks out to the beach.
Depending on when your vacation is you may not miss a hot tub all that much, it might be too hot or too cold

We never minded there not being a hot tub at the Poly, in fact we just stayed at WL in Dec. and used their hot tub once. I'm not a huge hot tub person to begin with so it is one thing that would not stop me from staying at a particular resort.

We love hot tubs too (a LOT!) but the Poly is GREAT....even without the hottub! We really didn't miss it at all.

I love hot tubs too but love the Polynesian more. The Poly is the only Deluxe that doesn't have one. I heard a logical reason for it one time but I can't remember what that was now. There are so many other things to do at the Polynesian that I never miss it and I really do like hot tubs.

We LOVE LOVE LOVE the Poly, it was our honeymoon destination - 10 fabulous days. I think you will love it and not miss the hot tub at all.

Unless you are planning on spending the majority of your vacation doing nothing but sitting in a hottub, I wouldnt worry. If you REALLY need one during your stay, the Polynesian shares the Grand Flordian Health Club, and they have hot tubs in the locker rooms there.

The Poly is my very favorite resort, but I really miss a hot tub. That's the only draw-back to the Poly that I can think of. The ambiance, room size, convenient location and spectacular views more than make up for that for me.

Even in August, it feels cold swimming at night. But at least I can watch Wishes while my lips turn blue and my teeth chatter!

I don't have any pictures of it but I enjoyed it alot. The water was nice feeling and I think just having the jets helped me relax after walking all day!!! In comparison, at AKL the hot tubs are nice but they are both a little ways away from the pool, which I know some may find romantic and very relaxing, but I didn't like being removed from the activity of the Pool so for me the Poly was my cup of tea!!!!!!

I really love hot tubs too and it was a hard decision to make, but we did decide on the Poly. Well, once we got there, I never even thought about it!!! Honestly, it didn't even occur to me that it was "missing" (even after thinking so much about it in advance), and I didn't think about it again until returning home and reading posts. I LOOOOVED the Poly and we're returning in 2009. Do I wish they'd add a hot tub? Sure, but I'll return regardless - it's that good!!!
