Hi.. i am planning a reservation at the Poly.. i would love to see tothe Electric Pageant Water and fireworks from the balcony.. should I book a lake view to ensure those, right?
However I have read about the noise in the night (horns from the lake).. is it always? Any longhouse that will be less affected?

also, all the longhouses have elevators right?

thanks!

yes to elevators.
Moorea is the only longhouse with lake views, so it thats what you want, thats what you have to take.

Pago Pago has one side facing the parking lot which gets some complaints.

Tokelau has one side facing the quiet pool and one side facing the garden. It is probably the quietest of the 3 long houses.

The lake will have a lot of noise for awhile after park closes and staring before park opens. I suppose it all depends on how sensitive you are to it/how light or heavy of a sleeper people are.

We had the last room on the top floor by TTC and you can clearly hear the horn when it comes in and leaves

We were fairly centered and the horn didn't bother us. We heard it when we were awake, but not when we were sleeping. The electric water pageant was a surprise the first time we heard the noise and then we tried to watch it every other night we were in the room when it was going on.

The horn has never bothered us, we could hear it, but it not enough to deter us from booking again.

This was our expereince as well. We had a room overlooking the lake at Moorea and could definitely hear the horns but they didnt distract us. We were up pretty early most days and in bed around midnight so if you sleep in or go to bed ealy or are really sensitive to noise, it may be an issue. But it didnt bother us even tho we could clearly hear the horns

We just stayed in Moorea in late January. We definitely heard the horns when we were awake, but it was never loud enough to wake me up or anything. And we were pretty far down (near to the TTC - room 2036).

Thanks for the comments! I confess that I am on the fence on lake vs standard view because I definitely prefer the quieter place but don't want to sacrifice the view either..

Stayed on second floor last October at Moorea. Absolutely stung views of Magic Kingdom for fireworks and water pageant . We were very close to the ferry but gotta say is really didn't bother us. Make sure to get second or third floor otherwise bungalows will effect your view.

We stayed in a Moorea standard view on the third floor and had a view of the walkway (so opposite end of hallway with water view) and we didn’t hear a sound. Loved how laundry is also in Moorea

It really does depend how light a sleeper you are and what time you're trying to get to sleep.

I've stayed Poly lake view twice.
The first trip was 3rd floor center and miserable due to being woken up by the electric water parade (with earplugs in!) and then kept up until 1 am with the ferry. The second trip was fun because I didn't mind hanging out in Trader Sam's until 1am, then being woken up at 7am the next day.

Aside from the noise, I hated lake view because I hated looking at “the bungalows” (I don’t like men)
