Poly Luau---how to get decent seating

We went to this three years ago and although we were one of the first to arrive and had made our reservations months in advance, we were in the back and our small children could hardly see. Any idea how we can improve our chances for a decent seat this time? We're planning a trip for the week leading up to Thanksgiving.

I bet you get good seats if you've already booked. We booked nine months out and got first row front and center. We had a 2 year old with us. I believe the seats are assigned by who books first.

I booked 3 days before one luau and I got first row center, then the next year I booked 3 months in advance and i got the seats in the back. I think its just all random.
