I have stayed, many times since 71 at the Poly lake view but not for many years.
My memories of the Poly were of the 9 long houses named after Pacific Islands, bordering the "Seven Sea's Lagoon" (how old is that!) or Bay Lake as it is now named.
Am I right in assuming that the longhouses have been re-named????
When did that happen??
Is Hawaii the longhouse facing the lake???

Yes the longhouses have been renamed. But Seven Seas Lagooon is still Seven Seas Lagoon. Bay lake is the body of water on the other side of the Contemporary Resort.

I think Tikiman has the old longhouse names translated to the new longhouse names on his web site (sorry I don't have the link for you).

There were originally 8 longhouses, not 9.......unless you're counting the Great Ceremonial House as one. The Seven Seas Lagoon has never changed names......it's still The Seven Seas Lagoon.

At least one building has been renamed twice......Maui became Maori and is now Rarotonga.

Yes, Hawaii faces the lake and is now all concierge level. It was originally Tonga (the first building in which I stayed.....back in the early 70s).
