Poly Longboat View Question

So Tikiman and Touring Plans both show that Fiji is all Standard View rooms and Disney says that marina views are part of Standard. We are being told by the TA that Fiji is half 'water view' and half Standard though. Can anyone confirm either that they booked a Lagoon View and got Fiji or if you know if Fiji isn't all Standard? It looks like there used to be a 'water view' and 'garden view' and they changed to Standard and Lagoon (and Theme Park), but I'm not sure on that.

I am no Poly expert but know Tikiman is. I would trust him over any travel agent or Disney CM.

We have always booked the cheapest room at Poly. Both times we stayed were at Fiji, and we had a view of the marina. I would look at Tikiman's site. I thought he mapped out the room categories in each long house.

I'd trust Tikiman over a TA, to be honest. Tikiman's mapping is pretty stellar.

You are correct in that they changed the room categories. Prior to the change, Fiji was all "garden view" (In 2005, we stayed "garden view" and were on the 3rd floor of Fiji, marina side). Fiji is now all standard view. It's funny. I booked with a TA back in 2005 and had this same issue with her - she, too, thought the marina side was a "water view". She was wrong and so is your TA. Although she didn't believe me, I asked the TA to please note my request for 3rd floor, Fiji, marina side on our reservation and, lo and behold, that's what we got.

Thanks for the info. The TA relented and agreed to put in my request for Samoa 3rd floor or Fiji 3rd floor. Very strange. I suppose they have a lot resorts to remember and get the details mixed up.

We had Fiji 3rd floor marina side in March. The room was closest to the lagoon. It had a partial lagoon view, but it was mostly blocked by a tree. The problem we had was bugs. I have never really experienced bugs at WDW, but there was something on the balcony that was eating at us. It didn't quite seem like mosquitos though, but maybe it was. Just wanted to give you a warning, in case you really hate bugs.

Information on WDW resort room category locations is very, easily accessible. I'm glad she put the request in. We've stayed in Fiji twice (once 3rd floor marina and once first floor luau cove side). It's a great location! (as is Samoa). Good luck with your requests!
