Poly laundry questions

we are staying in a studio next week, and I know that laundry facilities are limited, but need to know a few things.

1. What are the hours for DVC laundry room? I read somewhere that there is an app to let you know availability of the machines. What is the app and how does it work? (I am technologically challenged!).

2. I'm guessing I can use the regular laundry room? Where are they located and what is the cost?

I would almost want to overpack and do no laundry at all, but DH likes to pack light and do laundry half way through...not that he actually does it himself!

I can't help with the DVC laundry, but the regular laundry room is right next to the quiet pool (the big rectangle one). I think it was $1.50 to $2.00 a load. And be forewarned, the dryers won't dry a big load in 1 cycle! Either wash small loads or bring an extra 2 bucks!

The Poly laundry is attached to Lilo's Playhouse, very near to the Poly bus stand (out of GCH and turn left as if you're walking towards the TTC).

I used it last week. There is a change machine but there's also the option to pay for washers and dryers using credit or debit cards. There is a vending machine that sells washing powder and dryer sheets (it also takes credit/debit cards), but there's no option to buy softener so bring your own if you want to use it.

There's no restroom or even a sink in the laundry room, but there is a TV, a couple of chairs and soft drink vending machine.

The washing loads take about 32 minutes and the dryers last for an hour. You can use your US mobile number to receive texts on when your machine is finished and there's a website you can go to to see which machines are being used and how long each one has left. It's pretty clever stuff!

We did four loads and found that each one came out clean. Each load took less than an hour to dry. But that's not to say that Indio isn't correct when they say the dryer wouldn't dry a big load in one cycle. I guess it's a case of "define big"

Thanks, heard the regular laundry room is open 24 hours. Is this true. How about hrs for the villas laundry?

Not sure if it's 24 hr but you need to use your magic band to get in so it might well be accessible 24/7. I can't comment on the villas laundry as I never used it and am not even sure where it is.

You could probably get a more definitive answer over on the DVC Resort board. Someone over there is bound to have used the villas laundry.

Thanks for the suggestion, I have a feeling I may just take everything to the regular laundry room and just pay for it. I may not be in the mood to battle over the few machines that they have there!

We stayed in a studio in Moorea. The dvc laundry room is in that building. It is free, but you have to pay for detergent. It is 24 hours and you need your magic band to get in. There is an app. Link is below, but there is also a poster in the laundry room that tells you how to use it. It worked great, but it did show washers were available as soon as the cycle ended, but sometimes people had not removed their clothes yet. If you wind up staying in Moorea, it's pretty convenient.
