Breakfast:
Continental: nice assortment of breakfast breads but we haven't had this for a few years.
Omelet: Not for a few years either but the cheese was a runny cheese sauce which we didn't care for. The menu now say cheddar cheese I think so it's probably better. The potatoes are like those served at Kona for breakfast.
Mickey pancakes and regular pancakes: very good.
Tonga Toast : if you're a fan I needn't say more.
Dinner or all day:
Chicken noodles soup:very good
House salad: a nice fresh garden salad
Fruit and Cheese plate: nice asortment and a large portion
Mauna Loa Club: very good and the bread is really excellent.
Burger: was stupendous. I like mine with cheddar cheese and bacon. The bun used to be a kaiser and is a little different now but still better than an average burger. The bun is buttered like those at Beaches and Cream which really does add to the flavor. The burgers seem preformed now but are not at all like those at a counter service restaurant and are still very good.
Quesedilla: haven't ordered it for a couple of years either but it has always been good.
Pasta dishes over the years but I don't think we've had the latest version. All very good.
We've also had the kids burger which is as good as the adult one and the children's pasta which is fine.
I don't care for the grilled cheese because the bread doesn't seem to be really buttered before grilling. The cheese is good though.
The chocolate cake is a favorite of our daughter...very rich and very dark chocolate.
We haven't had the pizza in years but way back then, the crust was too thick and there was too much cheese but it was still not bad.
We do enjoy Polynesian room service including the people who take the orders...usually Nancy or Barbara and the delivery people....another Barbara and a gentleman that has been there since the year the Polynesian opened I think. I always forget his name...Stan or Ken maybe? Service is always fast and friendly and the food is warm.
We do miss the table now.
