poly honeymoon suite?

has anyone stayed in this suite? i tried to reserve it for my honeymoon, but it was booked...i'm hoping that when they get there and see me in the big poofy dress (we're being married at the bw that day...) that they'll re-think all the suites being booked...what do you think? i worked for disney and remember that they would ALWAYS hold suites open for some reason or another, but when you called, they were always booked...

Haven't stayed at that one, but I did stay in the GF turret HM suite. And it was sweet! Not sure if that's an option, but it was amazing!

Would that be a "free" upgrade? Or is the HM suite just another (decorated) room with no rate difference?

see that's what i was wondering...instead of a regular standard room, they offered us a "lagoon view" with concierge service, but the disney fairytale weddings reservation person told us that the lagoon view was the same as the standard view, except you're paying for the concierge service...ridiculous...there is supposed to be a separate honeymoon suite, but we'll see when we get there i guess...

I would be REALLY surprised if there was a suite available for you when you arrived. I think that you are setting yourself up for disappointment. If a suite is important to you on your honeymoon I think you need to keep looking for one - perhaps at somewhere other than the Poly. They have already offered you a Concierge Lagoon view room through your Fairytale Wedding planner. I have to believe that that is the best they can do for you. Hoping that when you show up in your wedding dress they will magically have the suite you are dreaming of, is a set up for disappointment.

I have stayed in Hawaii several times, lagoon view. It's one of my favorite locations, even better than the turret HM suite! Definitely nothing to turn your nose up at!

There are only a handful of suites at the Poly and they are VERY expensive, ($1000+/night), I would be surprised if they "upgraded" anyone to one of them. The Honeymoon Suite is different, it is actually not any bigger than a standard room, maybe even a little smaller, and I think it costs about the same as a lagoon view room in Hawaii. The only difference is it has a King bed and a jacuzzi tub that has a partition that can be opened to see the view out the glass doors, which is actually of the marina. The Hawaii building has a much better view and the full concierge lounge is in the Hawaii building, so if you stay in the Honeymoon suite, you need to trek over to Hawaii to use the lounge. Check out Tikiman's site for pictures of the suite. And I have to agree with the earlier poster, if you arrive expecting free wedding treats, you set yourself up for disappointment. Plan and pay for everything you want. Please remember that you will probably not be the ONLY person in a big poofy wedding dress, Disney does hundreds of weddings a year and could not possibly keep suites open for everyone.

i would never think that we would get upgraded for free just because we're having our wedding there. i would pay for any upgrades that they would allow us. by having your wedding there, they give you annual passes, that in itself is enough free stuff...

that's good information about the honeymoon suite being the same size as a standard room...

I believe there is only ONE honeymoon suite. It is the same size as a standard room, but does have a king bed and a jacuzzi. So, if it is booked, it is booked. Lagoon view concierge gives you a GORGEOUS view of the castle and beach at the Poly, I would take that over the honeymoon suite any day!
