 On the map of the Poly it looks like the Hawaii GV faces one of the pools. Can you see the pool from these rooms or is it blocked by palm trees? We have decided to go with the GV because of the $800 + diffrence from LV. I wanted to add a room request for a view of the pool. Anyone have any suggestions on which floor or room to request? (I understand it is just that a "request" and my chances are slim)
Thanks for your help. Tammie

The rooms closest to the lounge end are near the service elevator and there can be some noise. Also they look into the corner of the Samoa Longhouse so they might not be the best view. There are rooms sporadically that are blocked by trees and bushes on the garden side but a request of specific room numbers is not a good idea. Also in some cases the room assigner will not know what rooms are blocked and are not since they don’t go out and look at each room for its view. I will say that the majority of the rooms are not blocked by anything near the room but the pool is also surrounded by plants and trees so in most cases you will only see part of the pool. There are also a few rooms that are directly blocked by tree tops that are very close to the rooms.
You can see what I am talking about in the photos at this link.

We stayed in Hawaii GV last July and did not have a view of the quiet pool. because we were on the ground floor. We did see the trees and vegetation that surrounds that pool. I would guess that rooms with GV on the 2nd or 3rd floor would have a pool view at the end of the building furthest from the concierge lounge.

We were 3rd floor 2 doors from conceirge on the quiet pool side.

We had a huge tree blocking most of the balcony, could see most of the volcano pool though.

I agree with what everyone else says, that the further you are from the lounge the better view of the quiet pool and you probably need to be on the 3rd floor.

I would be careful with giving a blanket statment about the rooms farthest from the lounge. Below is the view from the very end rooms and there are rooms that are blocked by trees as you can see.

Thanks for your help. I'm sure it will be great no matter what room we get. Tikiman your website is awsome. :worship:
Thanks again, Tammie

OUCH, the expert has spoken. Silly me for offering a guess. My apologies.

I am with Steve on the noise next to the elevator, we had ground floor first room and boy was it noisy. I don't know if the service area is still there but early in the AM it is very noisy, and no view really.
