Aloha Poly GV people! What's your favorite GV room? I'm going in December with my Ohana and would love your help! Can't decide whether to request Samoa or Tokelau - 1st floor or 3rd!!! Any advice is greatly appreciated.

:flower: :grouphug:

Our favorite GV/SV of any Disney Resort is in the Samoa Building facing the Volcano Pool. We love the location, view, and atmosphere!

We will also be there in December and I was wondering the same thing myself. :confused3 Anyone else have any advise to offer. :)

I stayed in Samoa in June and we loved it. We directly faced the volcano pool and off to the right was the lagoon, GF and you could even see the monorail go by! We were on the 2nd floor, no balcony. It worked out ok though because it rained almost the whole time and there really was no time to sit out there. We did open the doors sometimes to take in the atmosphere.

Samoa third floor volcano pool side. We had that view in October and it's great!

You DISers are the best!! Thank you so much for the advice! I am going to request Samoa Volcano poolside right now!!! I think I will ask for 1st floor, that way my DS 9 & 11 can get up in the a.m. and go right out to the pool!!! Thank you all so much!

PS - I did it!! I requested Samoa 1st or 3rd floor - leaving it to chance and will hopefully be wonderfully surprised! I booked through AAA who said a poolside view would cost more . . .?? Oh well - it sounds like you can't go wrong with Samoa with any view. Thank you! Thank you!!

They gave you incorrect information on that one. Poly only has 2 views-lagoon and garden. Pool views are considered garden.

I hope you get it. :) I think it's a very popular request (for good reason).

Have a great time. :wave2:

Thanks Nancy! I'll put the request in again. I'm so excited I think my head is going to explode!

In April we stayed in Tokelau GV, but ended up on the end and had a beautiful view of the beach and GF...plus a walk out patio with ducks included! Couldn't have been better!

We were at Tokelau 3rd floor last Sept. We got the end toward the lagoon so it was like a LV at GV prices. Would have seen the castle but there was a palm tree right in the line of view. Oh well...it was still beautiful and convenient to everything.

We just came back and I have to say ...we loved Tokelau..very close to everything..We had 1st floor, patio was great...and the garden view was very nice...room 1934
This was our view

We stayed in Tokelau on the 3rd floor facing away from the quiet pool, and I thought it was wonderful. I think just being at the Poly is great! So far I think it's my favorite resort, although the budget usually dictates that we stay else where.

Thanks for this thread! We're going to the Poly in December too and are deciding on a request too. Our problem is that I want to be close to the TTC walkway, but my husband wants a renovated building and would prefer closer to the GCH. Samoa sounds like a good compromise though!

Thank you all so much and thank you Dave, for the picture!! I am beginning to think, no matter where they put us, especially with all of the rehab going on, we won't be disappointed! A bit off topic - when I got home from work, it became immediately clear that someone spilled the beans to my DS's about the trip. I described the Poly to them and their eyes just lit up! It's a magical trip already!

I'm with you about deciding no matter where we get it will be a magical vacation. I was driving myself crazy with location and finally decided that arriving at 10-10:30pm we will just go with whatever we are given. (not that we are not hoping for Samoa ground floor)

:rolleyes1

In May, we had Samoa Building, on the 1st floor, very close to the main ceremonial house. Great location because we were smack in the middle between the volcano pool and quiet pool. Only 2 minutes walk and we were inside the lobby area and the monorail on the 2nd floor.

Plus on the 1st floor is that the kids can strip their wet and sandy clothes, sandals, and toys in the patio area and come into the room without tracking water and sand. Great view of the top of the volcano pool. It wasn't too noisy. Negative on the 1st floor is that we had to keep our drapes closed because anyone walking by along the path could see into our room very clearly. No real noise from the outside and the fact that the building elevator was directly across from our room didn't contribute to additional noise. We had a fantastic location (despite no view of the castle and etc.)
