We booked a garden view at the Poly for our upcoming trip. I just don't know what to request.. here's what I want..

- Balcony or Patio
- I do NOT want a parking lot view- it will just ruin the magic for us!!
I do not care if we are far away from the TTC (for now anyway) or the Grand Ceremonial house, but, it seems that the second floor rooms on longhouses that are away from the parking lot do not have balconies..ie. Samoa,Fiji,Tivalu. I want and need a balcony. So far, the only request I added to our reservation was non-smoking. I told the CM to add to our reservation that I wanted a balcony and she said that all rooms have balconies NOT!
Please, tell me what have you requested in the past!! I need that perfect location! :cheer2:

We stayed in Tuvalu. It was adjacent to the quiet pool which was great for my kids who were 8,5, and 3. We had a patio and duck visitors several times. Since we were on the side of the building opposite the pool, and fairly far down the hall, we could glimpse the lagoon from the sliding glass door. Sitting on the patio, we could see the water, and it was maybe fifty yards from the beach for the water pageant and MK fireworks.

Check out the Tikiman's website for a map and request that side.

Good luck!

The last two times we stayed at the Poly we had a third floor (balcony) "parking lot" view in the Maori Bldg. (now Rarotonga I think). I never saw the parking lot only lots of beautiful foliage and I got to watch the Monorail which to me was just more magic.

Request Tokelau. The building is non smoking, and none of the rooms have a parking lot view. It is right next to the quiet pool and very close to the bus stop. IT is a short walk to the theme pool, great ceremonial house and just a smidge longer to the TTC. I think it is the most convenient building on property. Trust me, it looks a lot more spread out on the map than it really is. Also, all the floors in Tokelau have patios or balconies.

I have researched this before. If you want a view of the water request one of the following. Tikiman puts them in this order of his favorite garden view locations.

1. Tokelau--request rooms closest to beach

2. Samoa--request side facing volcano pool

3. Figi--all of these view water

Good luck and have a great time.:sunny: :sunny:

I felt the same as you, I wanted a balcony(patio of course was my next choice),and didnt want a parking lot view. I requested a balcony in either Samoa or Fiji. This past trip we got a balcony in Samoa, facing the quiet pool and it was great. On a trip in the past we had Samoa facing the volcano pool and could even see the castle if we stretched. I prefer that view but I didnt want to get too picky in my requests.
On our Dec trip I think I requested the same thing and we got Fiji, ground floor. I did like the patio, and our view was of the wedding pavillion, GF, and we could hear the luau at night. Also, it was a short walk out our door to a beach with a great MK view.

Tahiti, Tokelau and Rapa Nui are the three newer buildings. All the rooms in those three have balconies or a patio. One side of Rapa Nui does face the smaller parking lot. Tokelau is more centrally located. Tahiti is very close to the TTC.

Have fun wherever you end up!::yes::

You're going to love the Polynesian.

We book garden view - and we always request a room with a patio or balcony and non-smoking when making our reservation. Then, 3 days prior to our trip we ask for a room with something other than a parking lot and both times we've gone we have gotten exactly what we asked for. For this last trip I even specified a building, Tokelau, and asked for a view of the quiet pool. I got exactly what I wanted.

Wow, I certainly appreciate all this information, I definately know now what to request !!:goodvibes

It looks like Samoa, Tokelau or Fiji for us!!

Thank you , so much !!! :thewave:

JUst got back from the Poly! *sigh... miss it already!

I requested a 3rd floor and I think Tokelau, when we got there at 10 am, we were given 2nd floor Raratonga-, but it was the building right next to the Ceremonial house, a short distance to the Volcano Pool - dd couldnt get enough of that pool ! and for me, a short walk to get my drinks and anything else I needed... When she first said 2nd floor, I thought, go ahead and say you'll wait till a 3rd floor opens up... then I thought are you crazy - this is the closest building... and so I kept my mouth shut - knowing its the POLYNESIAN! Its DISNEY!! wooHOO... and I was so glad. It was opressively hot last week, I only opened the door ONCE - to get a picture before we left!! I opened up the curtains every morning and night - I loved the view (garden) of the quiet pool, of the foliage, and I even saw fireworks the one night my ankle was swollen, I opted to ice and elevate and send dd and dh out to the pool!! (They always were at the pool for the fireworks, if not in a park!!)

eta - I just jumped to tikiman's site to double check my longhouse - his site is all updated!! WOW!!
