I just upgraded our room to a castle view this morning, and I was able to keep my 40% code so I am so excited.

We stayed in the Fiji last Oct but didnt walk around the other buildings so I am totally clueless...please help me out.

Is there a certain building I should request?

Is there a certain floor that is better than others?

If I am in a beach building can you walk right out of your room and sit on the beach?

How do you get a code? Just wondering.

The end of Dec 07 I received a postcard offering 40% off deluxe resorts for certain time frames throughout the year 2008. I jumped all over this and booked 9 days in the Spring, this weekend in Aug at the Poly, 4 nights CL at AKL and 4 nights at the BW.

This was the first time I ever received anything like this before, I am so glad because we never would have been able to swing all these deluxe resorts at rack rate.

When we went to WDW in March/April the OKW and YC had bounce back offers in the room that were the same as the postcard I received...same dates and same discounts.

I am hoping to get a bounceback next month so I can book my Jan Poly trip at a cheap price.

You can walk right out on the beach in Tahiti. In Tuvulu, there is no beach directly in front. It's sort of like a pier....not the best way to describe it but the patios are right up to the water. I don't know if there are rooms in Aotearoa classified as castle view but would guess there are. There is a beach in front of that building but with the sidewalk in between. But in any case, the doors can't be locked from the outside so I personally use an exit when going to the beach and lock my door. Also midway down the length of Tahiti there is an exit right on to the beach. I think that beach would feel the most private although the one by the other two buildings is very quiet too.

As for floors, the MK is far enough away that the floor will not impact your view.

Second floor rooms in Tahiti have balconies. Those in Tuvalu and Aotearoa do not.

Happy planning!

Wanted to add I'm not a Polynesian expert but do love it there. We've stayed over 30 times now.

30 times! Oh yes, you can be an expert!

We're coming up on our 14th stay in December. I've always heard that the Poly has the most repeat business. :santa:

BCV23 You are far too modest. You are a definite expert on lots of Disney resorts :thumbsup2 And 30 stays at Polynesian?! :worship:

I've always heard that as well and having stayed there 4 or 5 times I can totally see why :wizard:

Did you have to do anything special to get the postcard? Is it for FL residents or anyone? Is it expired now? thanks

No I didnt do anything, the only thing I can think of was not renewing my AP at the end of Oct, 2 months later I get the discount postcard. You had to book your reservations by March 30th.

oh, well thanks for the info anyway, you sure got a great deal, i'm staying at the Polynesian but have to pay the 650 holiday prices for the garden view, wedding though so i'll pay it. Hope you get the best view!

 That's more than I'm paying for Lagoon View Club this summer (during Value season)!
$650 should be for a Lagoon View during Holiday Season??

I just called the poly to request my longhouse (great idea thanks) and they said because i did all my reservations online I have to wait until 5 to 7 days before I leave. I'll mark my calendar, but I thought everyone should know.:thumbsup2

Thanks everyone! I called reservations earlier tonight and requested top floor in the Tahiti building, prefer a king bed. The CM on the phone said she would note the requests on my reservation but told me to fax these requests to the Poly a week before I arrive.

Keeping my fingers crossed that I get what I want!
