Hearing the feedback and reviews on here about them are making me nervous!

I visit next month and have a standard view (never stayed at Poly) and I have no idea what to expect because they are so new. Noise really an issue? I'm going with DH and it's our anniversary/birthday weekend.

Also: Which longhouse is better?

Thanks! :)

My only concern for you is that a standard view is "standard" for a reason. Would you be upset with a parking lot view?

Not at all! I don't mind it. I will still enjoy it - I just heard a lot about inside and outside noise....

Parking lot view tho may take away some noise bc of the ferrys.

Hoping for an upgrade but idk if I'll take it hahaha

I would be aiming for Pago Pago for parking lot view or Moorea for an upgrade and choose Upper floor for my online check in. I can't have kids running above me haha

When I stayed at the Poly in May we stayed in Morea facing the parking lot side. We didn’t hear the ferries from the room at all. It was easier for us to walk to the ferry or TTC to grab the monorail as well.

We are hoping to go back again next year. I always wanted to stay there and because of DVC I did.

Good to know!!! Thanks! :)

I believe there are only a handful of standard view rooms in Tokelau that may experience the sound issues from the ferry boats. These would be rooms that are near the lake and face toward Moorea. From these rooms, people will see bungalows/lake, which is why they would hear the ferry boat horns (running until about 1 hour after MK closes and starting anywhere from 5am-5:45am).

I have yet to read even one report of hearing the ferry boats from Moorea and Pago Pago standard view.

One side of Tokelau is facing the east pool construction. It should not hear the ferry horn (at least not with the sliding door closed). However, it will hear the east pool construction. Until that construction is completed in 2016, most recommend standard view request Moorea. If the request is granted, it guarantees no Pago Pago parking lot view.

Stayed at Moorea LAKE VIEW. While you could hear the horns at times, it never impacted us. If you are concerned with Construction Noise, there could be some (if facing the pool construction in Tokelau). I would suggest requesting Moorea standard view. This would give you easy access to walkway along Lake to walk to pool or GCH and avoid walking past pool construction. We absolutely LOVED the studio and in fact bought there after staying there. The standard view of Mooreau or Pago Pago (ask for non parking lot view), when we were there seemed very quiet.

Thanks! I also was looking at Tokelau but not the east pool side too!

We thought the Moorea studio was beautiful! Didn't notice noise. Liked being close to monorail station for Epcot. The bathrooms were awesome! Lots of storage and nice shower. Liked the space under the bed to store suitcases and stick shoes. Used the coffee table storage space too.

We were in Pago Pago in June facing the monorail and parking lot. There was no noise at all. Very quiet and enjoyable. I did not even mind facing the parking lot.

I'll be staying there in January and appreciate the tips. Are the patios or balconies nicer to have?

All comes down to personal preference.
Some like the balconies because they do not want to be on ground floor and it offers more privacy.
Some like patios because you can walk out, more space, and the railing does not block your view when you sit.

So if you are able to walk to TTC can you get busses to other parks too? I know that is where the monorail and ferry are but wasnt sure if you could get busses to other parks too?

They used to use TTC as the hub for buses to other parks and DTD. However, they moved the other park buses to the MK bus area.
