Hello,

I am currently planning a short trip (3 nights maximum) to WDW in July 2008 because we will already be in Florida for a family vacation to Sanibel. I figured we could rent a car and after spending 7 nights on Sanibel we could drive up to WDW and spend a few nights there, then fly home from Orlando.

Anyway, we can't decide between three resorts, Poly, CR, or GF. Whichever resort we choose, we will have to get a garden view. So, what are your opinions, experiences, etc?

Thanks!

PS: There are 5 of us. :)

The best garden views as to actual view are at the Grand Floridian, then Polynesian and then Contemporary.

The Contemporary rooms and bath are the largest but the sink is in the bathroom where at the Grand Floridian and some rooms at the Polynesian the sinks are outside the bath, which makes getting ready easier.

All are very nice and newly rehabbed, just very different. My personal favorite is the Grand Floridian, but there are just as many that favor the other two. After going to Sanibel, I would want a change from the tropical theme of the Polynesian.

My vote for a garden view would be GF, never stayed at Poly, but GF is beautiful. I love CR but given a choice on garden view, GF wins.

Agree about GF, then Poly then CR. We stayed at the CR in May (our first visit in a refurbished room, our last tower visit we had an old room). We felt that the refurb, while nice, took away the essence of the CR, giving it an anonymous convention feel now. The GF does offer the best garden views and the rooms are spacious as well.

I just got back from the Poly and that would be my choice. The views are really pretty for Garden views. We had a Garden View and it was beautiful and it overlooked the quiet pool. The Poly to me is the most beautiful resort at WDW.

Poly would be my choice for the best GARDEN view, if you were staying lagoon/mk/concierge then i'd pick GF. But at the GF Garden (only stayed garden once) you see just the grounds. Not too much to look at. At the poly (Garden once) is was so beautiful to look at the trees and different plants and flowers. Plus, you could get a view of the beautiful pool or even the monorail!

Garden views at the Grand Floridian, can include the marina, the monorail, the gardens and both pools and even some parts of the lagoon.

However at the Polynesian, some garden views do face the parking lot.

My vote would go to a Magic Kingdom view room at the Contemporary. It's the best view you can get in all of WDW, so how can you not beat seeing Wishes every night and waking up seeing Cinderella's Castle.

The CRs MK view is lovely, but the OP stated that it has to be Garden view and the CR's garden view rooms leave a lot to be desired view wise.

After reading all the great replies and looking at some pictures, I have picked the Polynesian. Our entire family really liked the theme of the resort. :)

This fellow Wisconsinite (and former resident of Ft. Myers) gives her vote for the Poly! :thumbsup2 That's where we will be staying in November.
