I have read rave reviews about the Poly concierge. What makes the Poly concierge so great? Also what are the views like? We have small children and in staying there would love to be able to view the MK.

Second question. What is it like on the 14th floor concierge at the Contemporary? We have reservations on the 12th floor. Stayed there last year for the first time, but I still have the feeling that we missed something. I really want to hear about these two so I can make a final decision on whether or not to move from the 12th floor.

Thanks:wave2:

Hi S.M.

I've never stayed at the Poly concierge so I can't help you there but I've heard great things about it on this board. Maybe if you did a search on Poly concierge you could find some of the past postings.

As far as the Contemporary 14th floor concierge, I've stayed there a few times and loved it. Here's how it differs from the 12th floor: On the 14th floor you have a seperate lounge for food service and loafing around. They have a big screen TV and a couple of couches and chairs. There's 2 balconies in the concierge lounge that overlook the MK so even if you don't have a MK view you can sit on the concierge balcony to view the MK. The food service on the 14th floor continues until 10:00pm. I believe on the 12th floor they stop food service at 4:00pm(??). Also, they stop concierge service at 4:00pm but on the 14th floor the concierge is on duty until 10:00pm. The rooms on the 14th floor have larger balconies and larger bathrooms. As a tradeoff though the bedroom portion of the room is slightly smaller and there is no daybed. Each room on the 14th floor automatically comes with a refrigerator that is stocked daily with water, juice, and soda. I think you get a free fridge on the 12th floor but I think you have to request it. You automatically get nightly turn down service without having to request it. Not sure if you get that on the 12th floor. Anyway, that's what I remember. Hope that helps you out.

Thanks. We stayed 12th floor last yar and was wondering what the difference was betwen the two and if it was worth going up to the 14th floor this summer.

We returned from a stay at the Polynesian Conceirge at the end of September. The lounge was fantastic, in the morning we went for bagels and fruit, afternoon we would pit stop for water and cookies. The evening offerings were nice but we didn't partake more than a couple of times. The convenience of this alone was worth it for us and with fruit available the kids ate better this trip. When eating at restaurants they tend towards the grilled cheese and chicken nuggets but even they get tired of this after awhile.
We have never believed in paying for 'views', we stayed garden view first floor and walked around the building to the beach. I am convinced that their really aren't 'bad' views at WDW.
The convenience of transportation and the lounge ensures we will definitely be staying at the Polynesian again. (Soon I hope) :teeth:
