Poly Construction

Im staying at the Polynesian in May and was wondering how the construction is going there? Wilk it be done by May? Im paying lots of money and switched from Boardwalk to stay here.... Did I make the right decision?

There is still construction at the Poly, notably the 'quiet' pool at the moment. I understand that other minor work is possible, but, if so, I am not sure what it might be or where or when. I am staying for a short visit in Jan and I don't expect much construction (other than that pool).

If I were going in May, I would feel that there is a good chance that construction would be winding down or perhaps even completed.

All they've officially released is "early 2016". The only people who really know are upper management, insiders who know management, and the construction crew themselves. Pretty much everyone has been sworn to secrecy.

When we went in the beginning of December and stayed at the Poly, we got to know a CM fairly well. He said the the pool is actually ahead of schedule! He was shocked because the Lava Pool and the Lobby were always behind and has tons of delays.

Just for kicks, I asked him about an estimated completion date. He said that nobody would tell the CM's and they've all been instructed to say "sometime in early 2016".
It seemed like he wanted to tell me what he thought was a estimated time, but obviously held back.

From what I've heard (and what I've seen), I think there is an extremely high chance that everything will be done by May.

We went end of October. Ongoing construction of Oasis pool had NO effect on our enjoyment whatsoever. Cant wait to see pictures of the new Oasis pool. GO, think you will have a great trip..hope that the new pool area is open by then.

There is construction on the longhouses. New patio supports for the third-story patios.

Just back & they were working on the old East pool every day but it was nowhere near completion - but I'd guess it could very well be done by May. They were also working on the 2nd floor supports on some longhouses.

We were there in November and the construction wasn't bad. Our room was in 3rd floor Rarotonga and overlooked the East Pool construction, and even with that we didn't notice noise or disruptions.

We love the Poly and are already booked to go back this November.
