I was wondering if anyone requests a particular room # for their stay in the Hawaii building? Any rooms you would recommend? I know that you are not guaranteed to receive your requests, but was wondering if I can make a specific request like that. Thanks in advance for any advice.:)

I don't think there are too many different requests unless its for a specific room number like you ask. You had to have booked either garden or lagoon view.
From there you can request a certain floor. 2nd floor does not have a balcony.
With kids and a stroller Id like the forst floor.
I think there were some lagoon view that had a better view of the castle but im not sure.
I guess also you could request being closer to the side with the lounge but how long can that building be?

It would probably be better to say what floor and view you would want ie, 3rd floor room with a view of Mk, that way your chances of getting that are greater. I did this exact request for our trip coming up in August. They replied that they will do their best to assign that type room to me but that there are no guarantees! Hope that helps

I dont remember our room number but it was the lst floor and if you laid on the bed you could see a nice big old tree trunk from your slider. I think the poster minky dog might have also had this room too. Also our room was a hike to the lounge if you wanted to bring food or drinks back to the room. We ended up sending our 2 teen ds and gave them our tray that the ice bucket glasses were on. The lounge was really crowded sometimes. I would sure not want this room again, not to mention all the problems they had to fix when we checked in, closed safe, slider that would not lock, hole in the wall and electrical outlet that almost flew out of the wall. We are sticking to a cheap garden view room next time. Hope you enjoy your stay. Have you looked at tikimans site. I think he has the room #s listed. 3rd floor would be o.k. too with a balcony.

Good luck...every year we stay in Poly concierge (past 3 yrs) and we have never gotten the floor we requested. Last year we requested 3rd floor, MK view and got 1st floor MK view. MK view=good castle view in this case BTW. The year before we requested 1st floor MK view and were given 1st floor with a huge bush blocking the castle-switched to 2nd floor , great castle view. Year before we requested 3rd floor and got 1st floor. This was a garden view room so MK view not applicable. Oh well, we always have a great time no matter what floor we get.

My family and I are staying in the Hawaii building for the 1st time this December in a Garden view room, so we don't really care if we are on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd floor. We will happy to just be there and will be looking forward to our stay at the Polynesian.

You'll enjoy your trip whichever room you stay in. The lagoon views are great - but pricey. I got upgraded on my last trip there, but that was because I really wanted concierge lagoon and was only able to get lagoon, so I faxed them and they upgraded me to the concierge building on arrival.

It was nice, but unless you're going to spend a lot of time looking out of the window, I wouldn't worry too much as the garden view rooms are just as nice, and the building has an excellent location.
