We are scheduled for a visit next month to the Poly concierge, we are in a GVC room category. I haven't made any room requests, should I?
I know that the 2nd floor doesn't have a balcony and that the 3rd floor some rooms used to be smoking optional. I am leaning towards a ground floor request. Would this be wise or would we have to worry about critters being on the ground floor?

Thanks

Besides cost, the former smoking optional rooms is the main reason I''d not stay Poly CL.

If you check out the Poly thread, many guest enjoy the 1st floor rooms :) Have not read complaints about critters, but I'd be concerned too! Also, have not read of issues with the former smoking optional rooms. :)

Have a great trip and be sure to tell us about it when you get back!!:)

Thanks - the smoking optional rooms for the concierge Hawaii building were only 1/2 of the 3rd floor from what I found when I searched about it

We didnt make a request for our room but were given one on the ground floor. Our view if you sat on the bed was of a huge tree trunk. Our room was 2 away from the end of the longhouse and just about the farthest away from the lounge. A real pain in the neck when you wanted to bring food back to your room. We had our teens do it most of the time using our ice bucket tray. Just make sure your room is acceptable upon check in. Ours had a locked safe, hole in the wall, sliding door that would not lock and electrical outlet that was not screwed into the wall and pulled just about out when my ds pulled the iron out. And if you dont get a chocolate postcard, ask for one. We never got one. Have a great trip. Hope the cms are nice to you. When we were there we got a few alohas but they also had to go into the main bulding and man those desks too so you really didnt get to know them well. Tell us how your trip goes. Best of luck.

We've always done 3rd floor rooms at Poly. I like having a balcony view, and even though you are GVC you can still get a nice view overlooking the grounds, torches at night, etc. Also I don't want to worry about my kids running away or any critters coming in, so that has always kept me away from ground floor rooms.
