Poly concierge room request?

We have been following all the threads regarding which rooms are the best for Poly concierge. This may be a foolish question but can you request a specific room at the Poly concierge and reserve that room? We have always requested a specific building and/or room at (Dixie) PO Riverside. At best Disney would try to honor this request. We usually landed close to our request

Is one of the PERKS of concierge level a guaranteed room?
We need to know this, and then we will try to decipher all the reviews on which room to choose, they all sound perfect.

No room guarantees (except for medical reasons) even in concierge. The staff certainly makes every effort to accommodate though. Requesting a specific room can't hurt and you just might get your request.
