I have a question for all you Poly experts.

We currently have a garden view room booked, but are thinking about switching to a lagoon view. Does a lagoon view automatically equal concierge service or is that an additional cost?

Thanks

Concierage is a separate category and a separate building. If you are booked in a garden-view and change to lagoon-view you will just have a better view -- not concierage. In order to receive concierage service, you need to book it. Then there are three levels of that -- garden view, lagoon view, and suites. Again, all at an additional charge.

We just returned from staying concierage. This means that you are staying in the Hawaii building. The magic worked for us and we received a free upgrade from the garden-view concierage I had booked to a lagoon-view concierage. After staying there, we are definitely spoiled and wouldn't think of booking anything else! The food was fantastic in the lounge, the service excellent and the staff extremely helpful. Good luck with your planning!

Turnlisa,

Do you happen to know the price differential between a regular garden view room (which we have now) and the concierge garden view? Just a ballpark would be great.

What type of food was available in the lounge? In the morning, was it continental type stuff or did it include hot items (like pancakes for the little ones)? Where there appetizers and drinks in the evening? What other services were included?

Thanks for whatever information you can provide. :sunny:

We stayed at the Poly conceirge last year. It was great! At the time our DS was 4 and the location and food and drinks at the lounge were very convenient. The price between regular garden view and conceirge garden view was a significant jump, if I remember correctly. Not a big difference though between regular lagoon view and conceirge garden view. The lounge served continental in the AM. Just cookies and drinks in the afternoon. Hor Dourves in the evening. And desserts and cordials in the evening. We really liked it. If you can swing it, do it! Everyone should try it at least once. Good Luck!

the difference between GV and GV concierge is around $100.

Breakfast was standard continental breakfast fare...fruit, pastries, juice, coffee, cereal. Appetizers vary, some nights they are very good. there were some nights like when they had sushi out that were not so good.

Thanks everyone! It sounds like fun. I will review all this with DH and see what we want to do.

turnlisa - I think we were there at the same time - we checked in on Friday, Nov. 7th. I was really hoping for an upgrade to lagoon view since we were celebrating our 20th anniversary but it didn't happen (I have to say I was disappointed and next time I will save more so I can book it). We were in room 1520. The room was nice but all the way down the hall. When did you check in and did you ask for the upgrade or did they just surprise you?

I will get a full trip report together as soon as I am done doing laundry (LOL).

We were there at the same time! We checked in on Saturday, November 8th. We were in room 1509 which was heavenly!

Actually, I didn't ask about an upgrade and didn't plan on it. I had heard of it happening to other people or other people asking for it. I am not the type to do that normally. The upgrade was a complete surprise. I think it had to do with the fact that I had built a good relationship with the girls in the planning office and had stressed how excited about the trip we all were. If this wasn't it, I am not sure what was! We were there celebrating 2 birthdays: mine and my DS (who turned 7).

When we checked in I was totally shocked at how gorgeous it was was! When I asked down at the check-in desk, why we got the upgrade, Kathy just winked at me and said, "Sometimes magic just happens!"

I'm really happy for you guys. We had a wonderful trip also. Kathy, Christine, Becky and Aida (in Island Planning) were all wonderful. We were surprised with a chocolate bride & groom, Minnie and Mickey for our anniversary so we also had our share of Pixie Dust.

I have gotten really spoiled now and DH kept reminding me not to get too used to it. We will not be returning for at least two to three years so I will have alot of time to save for that lagoon view!

Speaking of upgrades we were upgraded from regular garden view to concierge garden view!! I wanted to add that they also have oatmeal at breakfast (with brown sugar and raisins to add if you like) that became a staple for me!!

Looks like we were there at the same time as turnlisa and lisa3. We checked in on 11/8 and checked out 11/12. We stayed in room 3518, DW, DS15, DS14, and DS8.

I'm posting my trip report today.
