We stayed there in Aug 2006 and my parents were there last oct and said they loved it! We stayed in room 3502 which is a MK view. The castle was directly across from our balcony. We were the second room from the elevator and lounge. This is also the end nearest the volcano pool. The location could not be beat! As for the food, we had our 2 boys and the babysitter with my Dh and I. We had breakfast every morning in the lounge and dinner there every night. Since our kids were 7 and 4 at the time, we did spend most of our time in the MK and it was so easy to get back and forth by the boat or monorail all day.
The menu I have was
Breakfast-continetal, cereal, juices, pineapple bread(I loved it!) fruit, pastries etc.
Lunch was PB&J, cheese and cracker, drinks and such.
Dinner was great.-IT changed every night- Vegetable spring rolls, asian noodles, BBQ pork ribs, coconut almond chicken, nachos, maui au gratin potatoes, salads, fruit trays and cheese trays.
after dinner was desserts. They were an assortment and pretty good.
The view alone was worth it to me, but all day long free drinks, like coke, water, juices, beer, wine, and such was great when it was so hot! The kids would just run to the lounge any time they wanted something.
With 5 of us I think it was a pretty good deal.
Hope this helped a bit.
