Poly Concierge AAA discount anyone?

I read here the other day ( I think it was a tikiman post, so a very knowledgable source ) that sometimes you can get better AAA discounts than just the standard for the concierge rooms. If this is correct, what %'s off rack rate can you get for concierge? We already booked a garden view room ( standard 15% discount off rack rate for value season.) We would love to do concierge but are not willing to pay nearly $100 more a day for it.

If anyone has any other ideas for saving money on concierge, let me know. Do AP ticketholders get discounts for just regular rooms, or reg rooms and concierge as well?

We are staying Poly GVC in May and are currently booked with a AAA discount. The discount is 10% off rack rate. Still hoping for AP rates.

Last year we had an AP rate for YC concierge, $250/night during value season. I am hoping that Poly concierge will get AP rates this year as well.

Our AAA rate is 15% off rack rate during value season. Definitely still not cheap at $343 + tax.

Here's some #s for our time period (peak season):
March '05 GVC AAA rate=$456+tax vs. rack rate=$530+tax
GV non-concierge AAA rate=$377+tax vs. rack rate=$419+tax

Still going to pay more for concierge (with AAA discount) than non-concierge.

Hopefully general public room code or AP rates will be available for your time period, as it was for ours (all room types were included in discount). Still pricey, but it did lower GVC rate to below the GV (non-concierge) rack rate. Good luck.
