Well, after much planning, deliberating, and gnashing of teeth I have booked our trip for our 20th anniversary. This weekend swung the vote as we did an impromptu 2 night visit to POLY and we were placed waaaaaaaay out in Tahiti. while walking back from the pool passing Hawaii, DW said, "That would be cool for our September trip, but if you want GF we could stay there". Being married for as long as I have I clearly understood that to mean "that's where we will stay if you want to be married for 21 years".:thumbsup2 I called CRO and asked about a bounce back rate as there was nothing in the room and I got what I consider to be a GREAT rate for CL theme park view. Now fellow DISers this is the part of the show where you all spring into action and tell me which room is the best and which one I should request. Also, do the CL rooms connect?

First off, congrats on 20 years! :yay:

Not sure about CL TPV placement, but as far as connecting rooms - we stayed CL GV and had a connecting room with relatives.

Cheers!

I wouldn't recommend requesting a certain room #, I would keep it simple and request either the 3rd floor (so you'll have a balcony) or I would request the 1st floor (so you'd have a patio that walks right out onto the beach). :)

Congratulations on 20 years!!!
When we were at the Poly in MAY, we had requested the same room we had last year. When we checked in, the room right next door was available.
It had a beautiful view of the castle, we were third floor, right beside the upstairs entrance to the CL lounge. It was VERY convenient, also beside the elevator. room # 3502......last May it was 3501. Each were beautiful rooms.
Have a great return trip!!!

Priceless! I hear ya! Congrats on 20 yrs. Can't help you with room location as I will only be going to Poly CL for 1st time in Aug. I'm sure you will get more than enough recommendations!

I wouldn't recommend requesting a certain room # :)

Any particular reason? Will they look unfavorably on such a request? I'm sure we want 3rd floor. Is the view any better from any particular room or are they basically all the same? I'm thinking that the view can't be that terribly different from one end of the longhouse to the other. Any vets feel free to chime in. I know this is amazingly narrow but folks on here know EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING!:worship:

Main reason not to request a specific room is that if its not available when you check in the room assigner may not know what's important to you (like a balcony). Requesting more generally gives you more chances to get the features you want.

Second floor rooms do not have balconies so third floor or first or the starting point and I'd suggest third. If you are getting garden view, the south side then ask for a room middle or east end. The reason is that there is a small utility/garbage/laundry cart area on the west end south side that can be a bit noisy.

Now on the north side, lagoon side all but 1 room on third floor is theme park view (its lagoon view) most 2nd floor and 1st floor rooms are lagoon view with a few theme park view. Again third or 1st floor and it really doesn't matter east or west end or middle, all are good.

Ask for areas like above not specific numbers since specific rooms are extremely hard to meet and frankly if you get in the area you want the specific room number doesn't really make a difference.

Like all buildings there are only a few connecting room pairs but if requested they will try. Better chance at the poly because the concierge CMs do the room assignments.

Chas and Poly thank you both.It is TPV, sorry I didn't specify. So when I talk to them(IPO? is that who to communicate my requests to?) I should make my requests in order of whats most important? such as: 1. Third floor 2.Connecting rooms 3. Close to lounge area Something along those lines? I think I know from checking out Tikiman that I want rooms 3501,3502 but just to be clear, You're of the opinion i probably shouldn't specifically request those rooms so as to give them more leeway to fill some of my requests if they can't give me all of them?
