Hi
does anyone know if the poly bungalows are being refurbished now or will they be before October 2021. If so what is it going to look like. thanks

No renderings of DVC refurb have been shared for Poly, and it is unclear when they will be finishing the studios or starting the bungalows.

weren’t the bungalows fairly recently booked ?

It's been 6 years since they opened. The schedule is supposed to be 7 years for a soft goods refurb and PVB was scheduled for that next year but then the hotel side decided to refurb this year and DVC apparently decided they would move PVB up a year. They pushed VWL back a year as it should have been done this year but is now scheduled for next year.

Was just there last week and they were definitely removing beds and chairs.

Out of curiosity, was that out of the villas or bungalows (or both)? I have seen some threads on here about reservations getting moved to the hotel in August and September.

I was staying in the villas but only saw items being removed from the bungalows.

I saw on Twitter (from a site that isn’t allowed to be posted) a mention that DVC villas are May getting a Moana soft goods refurb as some DVC guests being moved into the newly refurbished hotel rooms.

I just saw that those with upcoming stays are being relocated to Moana themed rooms, I fail to see how that is anything close to equivalent of a Bungalow or even a Studio for that matter at the Polynesian.

Haven't seen yet people in bungalows moved to regular hotel rooms. I suspect they'll do the bungalows in small groups so they don't have to move people out. DVC studios to hotel rooms is an easier substitute.

I'm there from September 6-12 and have not been notified of a move to a regular hotel room. Perhaps some will be completed by that timeframe.

I’m wondering whether they’ll move people from bungalows to CCV cabins. But they may not have that much demand for the bungalows, May enough empty ones to work on at any given time.

Even if they book all rooms but the DVC tour room, worst case is they refurb the tour room and use as a guest room, taking rooms offline one at a time to refurb, returning to inventory and taking another offline.

But really, these permits were filed in late April so they've had plenty of time to block rooms and plan because there's no way the bungalows were 100% booked +3 months out.

I saw that, too, but I think they don't know what they are talking about. There have not been any designs released re: the soft goods refurb, so unless they have a super secret inside source they're just assuming that the DVC rooms will get the same treatment as the hotel side... despite that not ever being true historically. #unscrupulous

I was there last week and the resort is open but kinda a mess. Not very Disney at all.
We came back from a later dinner in the springs via UBER and the rent a cop at the gate, must have though he was ICE. He wanted to know where the driver was from. The driver said Orlando. Rent a cop got frustrated and said No what country... Took 15 minutes to get though the gate. Really just around bad customer service and rudeness.

Hope you reported that guard. He had no business asking that!!

I agree.

We’re booked for a DVC Poly Studios stay later this month. Will they have the traditional decor, or are the DVC villas being refurbished too?

I haven’t heard of anyone staying in July getting moved. It seems like it is August dates that are getting moved, so I would think you will still have the traditional decor for your stay.
