Poly building rehab's?

has anyone stayed in the Rarotonga longhouse since it has been rennovated, does it have a "new" feeling.

Is there extensive work going on at the GCH? If so, does anyone know the estimated date of completion?

I really want to try the Poly, but am concerned about the rehab on the lobby/GCH. My DD6 is really into all things Hawaii. This is the first year we are AP holders and are planning on going 2 times this summer, in June and in July. Will the GHC rehab be done by June or what about July? The other resort we will stay at will probably be WL, so which should we stay at in June/July? We are only going 6 nights in June but 8 or 9 in July so we were looking at WL for the longer trip because it will be cheaper. I just do not want to pay the $$ for the Poly and the main area is being worked on.

Disneyw/kids,

Rarotonga has been back open for quite a few months now but the work done there was not to give the rooms the “NEW” decore that was being done in the test rooms. They were just fixing up the building inside and out. As far as I know the two test rooms are not open to reservations and they still have not started on any of the longhouses other than the suites to change the look from what was introduced in 1998.

No one either knows or is saying when the estimated date to finish the GCH work will be.

I would not worry too much. They only have part of the GCH walled off but the indoor atrium, everything upstairs and all the other great things at the Polynesian are undisturbed. They may be done with much of the GCH if not all by the time you are there but if not I would not worry. It does not look that bad.
