I was curious if anyone has rented the boats at the Polynesian? What is the age/height requirement? Also, is it worth the time away from the parks? I would love to hear if anyone has tried these boats and/or canoes on their vacations.....:sunny:

What is available at the Polynesian marina?

Guests can choose from among a wide variety of watercraft to sail both the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. Choices include pontoon boats, canopy boats, aquafins, sailboats, or one of the new Water Mouse boats. A resort ID or driver's license is required to rent any watercraft at the marina and children must be 12 years old or older to drive. The marina requires previous sailing experience to operate any of the sailboats. All boating activities from the Polynesian marina operate daily from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm, and close during any inclement weather.

We always try and rent the Water Mouse to tour Bay Lake have rented at the Poly and Wilderness lodge. If you are staying at the Poly they have a special rate for guest.

We recieved this information on our last stay at WDW:
*Recreation Family Plans:
Plan includes the Water Mouse, Pontoon Boats, Canopy Boats, Sailboats and Bicycles, (Cruises and Surry Biles NOT included)
Captain Plan: 4 hours of rental per Group $115 plus tax
Family Plan: Length of Stay Plan (Weekly Rate for Use of Equipment Listed Above) $199.00 plus
tax (Up to 5 Guests per Plan)

We did the Water Mouse boats on our last visit to the Poly - boy was that the best money we ever spent!!!!!!!!!!:boat:

My kids still talk about the great time they had zipping all over the Lagoon!!! My youngest was not old enough to ride by herself, so had to ride with Dad. Oldest DS and I tried to ride together, but those little boats get really bogged down with two adult-sized people in them, so DS "dumped" me on the dock!!! Boy, were they ever surprised when I came at them in my own Mouse!!!:earseek:

We signed up for the Family Plan ($199). On the first day, My 8 year old rode with me, and my other 2 sons got thier own water mice. For the next 4 days, the 2 oldest would take the boats out at their own will. All they needed was their room key. This was one of their favorite things to do during our 5 days at the Poly.

Well worth the $199.

We are heading to WDW (staying at the Poly) in May. I would love to rent a Water Mouse and take my 3.5 year old out with me. Is there a minimum age for these boats?

We were debating about renting the mouse boats at the WL when we go in July. Now after reading the posts, I'm definitely renting them. Sounds like lots of fun!

There is no minimum age for riders but you have to be I think, 12 and weigh 100 lbs to yake one out alone. Everyone has to wear life vests.

We've done the plan at GF and the Polynesian. It's great.

We make a special trip over to the Poly every time we are there just to rent the water mice! We love these! We zip around Bay Lake and have a blast- worth every penny!! The ones at the poly seem to be faster, and defintely don't rent over by BC and BW (epcot resort area) they go alot slower and the waterway is BORING! You absolutely have to do this on Bay Lake. Can't wait until we can do them again!

Yes, I agree that one of the advantages of renting at any of the Seven Seas (GF & Polynesian) or Bay Lake resorts is that you can go all over both lakes...lots of room!

We have a 2 1/2 year old and I just know he would love to ride with one of us on a mouse boat. Does anyone know if they have child size life vests for the little guys?

thanks in advance!

I think I remember reading somewhere that there are new boats that will seat 3 people. Anyone know about this?

We took our 2 year old on one a few years ago and they had all sizes of life vests, including one for him.
