Did you enjoy the view?

I wasn't at the beach, but watched from my balcony in the Hawaii building. It was an amazing view. Better view than inside the park.

so the construction wasnt an issue??

We're going to be there in October was wondering if Poly was good to watch fireworks or better off going to Grand Floridian -

what do you think?

If construction hasn't changed too much from when I was there from last Christmas (which was before the cabanas were built), the line of sight from the beach to Cinderellas CASTLE is unimpeded as it should end up just above the roof line. The cabanas themselves ARE in the view, however, and mess up the tranquility of the lagoon. But I think the fireworks view should still be good.

I stopped by on July 3 (hopefully that counts) and they were already advising guests that the beach was for Polynesian resort guests ONLY. They had MB readers and the like out. Speaking with a CM, I concluded that they were doing this because of the construction limiting the view.

We had dinner at CG and watched from there (it was amazing!). On the Fourth, we headed to Epcot to see the fireworks there, which were beyond compare. If you've never seen the Heartbeat of Freedom (the IllumiNations FoJ tag), you must!

We were there on the 3rd. We originally walked over to the main beach around 8 but all the good spots were taken. So we walked over to the beach right beside it.... The one right behind the luau. It's actually a better spot to directly see the castle IMO. They had vendors walking around both beaches selling stuff. Around 8:50 they paused the luau to let the guests there come out to see the fireworks. It was an amazing clear view! I took some gorgeous pictures that I'll upload when we get home

. There were Polynesian staff at both beaches and we weren't asked at either beach if we were resort guests. But I definitely heard several poly guests complaining that "the others" had taken all the chairs.... And rightfully so. If I was paying to stay there, I would've liked a lawnchair too. We brought blankets to sit on as did many other guests. And I saw people getting towels from staff at the pool who didn't have magic bands on either.

Afterwards, we walked over to grand Floridian to grt on the monorail as the line at poly was very long. No line at all at gf.

We also watched wishes another night from the beach. Agin, no problem not being a resort guest.

We watched from the small beach between Poly and GF (near the Luau). Actually thought this was a better view than from the beach in front of the Poly pool. Beautiful unobstructed view of the castle. On the 3rd, they were NOT checking MBs or restricting access.

We were there last night and thought the view was incredible!! We staked out our spots around 5:30, setting up chairs with our stuff on them. Since we were at the pool, we wild just check in periodically to make sure out stuff was still there. Our seats were right next to the big fire pit. The opposite side, right in front of Hawaii was reserved for Club level guests. We had a great view of the castle, further down it would be obstructed by the bungalows. I can't imagine a view any better than we had. The entire lake was lit up with fireworks.
