Poly, BC or WL for short stay?

We are planning a spring break trip to Disney and Universal. We will likely have three park days at WDW, so we're looking to maximize our time. It's our first time at US, so that is more the focus this trip. We've been to Disney many times, so we know we won't see it all, of course. Our kids are elementary school age and we plan on doing MK, HS and hopefully a little bit of Epcot because it's my favorite and I have to go there, lol.

We will most likely stay at Royal Pacific at US, so I was thinking Beach Club or WL would be fun for a different vibe at WDW. But my H says Poly because of better transportation options (hopefully monorail would be open by then). I confess I haven't checked rates, so that could end up a deciding factor. But solely based on overall resort enjoyment and transportation, which would you choose?

ETA: We have stayed at Poly once before, but not the others.

I would choose BC/YC, as you don't need a bus for two of your three park days (Epcot and HS). WL is an awesome resort, great theming and new rooms, but bus to every park except MK (boat there). The Poly may be a budget buster (but an awesome resort). We choose YC over BC, as the guarantee of full balcony and first bus stop of the two resorts.

They are all great resorts and you can't go wrong in the end.

I'm also going to say BC/YC since it is within walking distance of Epcot and HS and so close to many dining options. I love WL and have stayed there many times, and for our trip in February I was going to stay at the Poly but changed it up for the YC. I also prefer YC with a guarantee of a full balcony. That and the lobby at BC can get pretty loud with Cape May. Like real estate, it's about location, location, location if your going to spend time away from just the MK. If it also comes down to cost WL will be the least expensive by far with BC next and then Poly leading the pack in cost. But with that said, all three resorts you mentioned are going to be a great experience for you.

Agree with previous posters, Beach Club and Yacht Club have great amenities and the close access to the two parks can't be beat.

Thanks for everyone’s input! It might help me convince my H to try BC. He just loves being on the monorail at Poly. We used to always stay at POR, which is a beautiful resort, but the bus service wasn’t always the greatest. Once we were fortunate enough to stay at Poly, he was hooked.

But he does really like the idea of walking to two parks. I have always wanted to stay at WL, but I think the transportation is just not convenient enough for a shorter stay.

Another vote for BC/YC. It will make your park days at DHS and EP incredibly easy and there is so much to do within walking distance of those resorts.

Having done Ohana breakfast to Epcot before, if Epcot is a priority to fit in for you I’m just not sure how convenient Poly is.

We chose to walk through Poly to TTC for the Epcot monorail then… nice but also a bit of a hike depending on where your room is. Alternative is the “long way around” on the resort monorail to get to TTC. All told I think you can bus from YC/BC to MK a lot quicker than Poly to Epcot. HS wouldn’t be bad from either (<15 on a bus from Poly vs <15 walk from YC end).

Ultimately, choose what you like, but when I think of the Epcot monorail, convenience is not the first word in my head:duck:

Beach Club and Poly. I think WL is lovely but the other 2 have higher marks all around.

Best 2 pools on property. Big plus with kids.

Both have easy access to 2 parks-
Poly I’d recommend Resort Boat to MK and 5 minute walk to TTC for Epcot monorail
BC is 5 minute walk to Epcot and 20 minute walk or boat ride to HS
It’s great to take an afternoon break and easily getting back & forth is a huge advantage over the uncertainty of buses.

Food- Both have a bunch of very popular options and close proximity to many more.

Night shows and park closing- no need to deal with the masses. You’ll get the warm fuzzies when leaving MK or EP fireworks and getting back to your room in minutes.

I don’t think you’ll regret either. Both are solid all around and neither disappoints. Personally Poly is the winner but it’s also usually more expensive than BC.

Well here is my two cents, or whatever it’s worth. I love BC/YC for a lot of reasons: best pool on Disney property, great restaurants, the ale and Compass has really done a 360 since the change from the Captain Grill, Cape May, Yachtsman, Crew Cup Lounge. All the boardwalk area. Easy walk to HS, Epcot. What we did prior to the pandemic when we wanted to go to Poly or GF was walk through Epcot, grab the monorail to MK, then to Poly and GF. Forget the bus service. You need now a hopper pass or pick Epcot for the hopper or for your primary park but it still works. There is so much in the Epcot resorts even the restaurants in Swan and Dolphin. Plus the friendship boats and skyliner. We got everywhere we wanted to go with little trouble.

BC if time usage is important. 2 of your 3 parks are easily accessed from BC. SAB is a plus, but dependent on temps and your preferences. We like park hopper ticket option that would make it very easy to dine at Epcot. While some items mentioned above may not be available today, we should expect by Spring break 2022, they will be.

Thank you so much for everyone’s input. Now, a follow up question: assuming club level is back by our trip, is there a distinct difference or better choice between Poly and Beach Club club level service?

I want to try BC and think it would be the easiest. We would have park hoppers and the idea of doing MK, going to Epcot for dinner, then walking back is so appealing to me. My H is really fine with either, but I’m still trying to make a decision.

We have done club level at each. To keep it simple: lounge size, theme, price, food offerings and view are the differences I would note. PR lounge appears larger due to number of tables, ceiling is vaulted and one wall is a window wall with views of Seven Seas Lagoon. BC have windows facing the entrance side. The price is typically more at the PR, most likely based upon supply and demand being higher at the PR (Disney icon resort with views) The theme of the resort is part of the lounge. Beach vs Polynesian. Food typically derives from the food offerings (TS) provided at the deluxe resort.
