Poly August onstruction?

I know they will be building DVC and am worried about our August trip. Mainly I wouldnt want the pool or GCH to be under construction while we are there. Is there any timetable yet? I love the Poly but would change resorts if the pool was closed.

According to Tikiman, WDW will only admit that DVC construction will start the end of this year with no estimated completion date.

I'm pretty sure they will not be starting on the DVC or pool in August. They are still refurbishing the longhouses. I wouldn't worry about it. We'll be there 9/5 - 9/9 and I'm not one bit worried about any construction that will be going on. If I really thought there would be major construction, I would pick a different resort.

I agree with this and my trip isn't until October.

I've been following the developments for Poly this August also but I think the consensus is that nothing major will be happening at Poly for this Aug. i was concerned for a pool rehab as well. tikimanpages is a great site though with regards to all things Poly; also the Poly resort thread.

I wouldn't worry in August. I have been told much the same info as Tikiman but Disney history tells me that until a firm announcement is made nothing is written in stone. That said, the building of the GVC at GF says that any disruption will be kept to a minimum and really not a big concern. In fact, they did such a nice job on the walkway past the construction at GF that it was actually a pleasant stroll.
