Poly - Anyone stayed in the suites?

We just booked to stay in the 2-bdr. Princess Suite next September in the Tonga Longhouse. Anyone ever stayed in the Tonga before? Sounds really nice, but hearing some stories from past visitors would help a lot. If you stay in the Tonga do you also get to use the main concierge that is supposed to be moved back to the Hawaii Long House by then or the just the lounge in the Tonga building?

All the suites are great and in very good condition. There is a small food area and a concierge desk on the second floor of Tonga but you may also use the lounge in Hawaii.

Your website is awesome!! Thanks for all of the great pictures and info. After seeing your photos, I switched our ressie to the King Kamehameha. It looks really great. I can't wait to go. I hope we get some towel animals like the ones in your pictures. That alligator was adorable, and my hubby loved the guy sitting at the table!

I read about all of the renovations at the Poly. Is the Tonga going to be included in this? It looks like it's in great shape already, but I don't know when it was last renovated. Hopefully if it is set for renovation this won't affect our plan. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Tonga was going to be done starting this year but was taken off the rehab list for now. Tonga suites have always been in good shape and do not see the wear that the other rooms do but some work was done on them in the late 90's. The photos are from 2002 and they looked to be in very good shape. We tried to switch over to the King Kamehameha suite but someone was checking in the next day. Hopefully on the next trip but we will not stay there the whole stay since $2000 a night is alot between two people and it is more room than we need for the whole stay.

I am sure at some point the Tonga Longhouse will be done but I am not sure if it has the same foundation problems that the other original longhouses did. The rooms in Tonga were not build offsite and plugged in like the other rooms. The suites were built as the building was being built onsite.
