Poly - Am I supposed to request a particular house?

I booked my reservation at the Poly about a month ago - we are going in November. Should I call back and make a more specific request. We took the lowest cost room assuming we wouldn't be in the room for very much so why pay for MK views. Thoughts???

It sounds like you chose Garden View which I think is a great choice!! I would definitely request a particular longhouse, floor and even side of longhouse!!

Most longhouses have three floors and most of the second floors do not have balconies, so you may want to decide if you would like a third floor balcony or a first floor patio. You should also think about what you would like to be closest to - the pool? the lobby/monorail/shops? the path to TTC? that will help determine which longhouse you would like to request. Some longhouses also face different areas on different sides - so you may want to ask for a particular side as well. For instance, when we stayed Garden View in 2005 we requested Fiji, third floor, marina side and got it!! We loved it because we had a full balcony, we were very close to the Great Ceremonial House and we had a view of the Marina and a bit of Space Mountain (even though the room was Garden View!) So, it's definitely worth doing a little research to see which longhouse looks best to you!

I wish we had been closer to GCH. We were in Tahiti which was convenient to TTC but really far if we wanted to refill mugs.

There are some Longhouses that have balconies on all floors- the newer ones. We loved Tokelau. All balconies, and central location! Tikiman has a great site with loads of info.

We were just there in May and I didn't request a particular longhouse ahead of time.. However, I got there early from my checking out of BWI, and they said my room was ready.. It was close to the marina but it has NO balcony. because I had just BWI and i had a full balcony, I really really wanted one.. So, i went back to the front desk and asked if it was possible to get a room that had a balcony, i didn't care where it was located or what it faced just as long as it had a balcony.. they set us up in Tahiti..

this was our view from our room every day.. We would come home sit on our balcony and watch Wishes every night..

We were in a garden view and got Tokeau which was a good location, but I wished we had of requested Samoa because we really enjoyed the volcano pool and it is closer, also closer to the main building.
