Staying at the poly for first time coming up. We have 5 of us. 3 adults 1 child and an infant. Looking for room request suggestions. Any help as to building, floor or view would be great.

Your perfect Longhouse depends upon what is important to you. Do you want to be close to the GCH? Do you want a standard, lagoon or theme park view?

I suggest browsing Tikiman's Which Longhouse? section. It has some great information and will hopefully make your decision easier!

For a standard/GV room, we loved Samoa. It's convenient to everything, IMO, as it's just steps from the GCH, the volcano pool, the beach, and Captain Cooks :goodvibes. We were on the first floor facing the quiet pool.

If you want to be close to GCH, then Samoa is the no brainer, if you want an equidistant location to everything, pick Tokelau. Tokelau is also nice because it's one of the few longhouses where the 2nd and 3rd floor rooms all have balconies.

Stayed Samoa in '04 and Tokelau last week. The rooms in Tokelau are a little larger but the bathroom layout is different IIRC. Both have just been refurbished.

When we stayed at the Poly I fretted for weeks before check in over which longhouse and view to request. I finally decided to request (I think) a ground floor room in Tahiti, because it was something close to the pool and also an easy walk to the beach.
Turned out that I got none of what I requested but still had a fantastic room. We were right next to the GCH and had a fantastic view of the monorail which I found to be very relaxing.
Best of luck however it winds up for you!

I like Tokelau and always request it. My family always stays in a Garden view room so we request a room facing the quiet pool and it is terrific.

Because of the incredible amount of walking we do during a week at WDW, we do our best to limit as much of it as we can. We always request a house as close to the GCH as possible, usually Tonga.

If GV, Tokelau, pool side, 2nd or 3rd floor, as close to the beach as possible.
