I feel like making it tonight but am not sure how. I bought the Hillshire Farms one. Should I boil it or fry it somehow? Our grill is closed for the "winter" or I'd grill it. I'm also having baked beans on the side.

You can split it in half and fry it or what I do alot is put the beans in a oven proof dish, put the kielbasa on top and cook at 350 for about 30-45 minutes. Cover it with foil too.

You can also cook it in a covered frying pan over a low to medium flame.

We have fried ours, grilled it and steamed it. When I steam it, I put it in a shallow pan on the stove with a little bit of water, and cover it. It only takes about 10 minutes.

I like it a lot better fried or grilled, though.

Boil it in beer and serve it with saurkraut on rye bread. With baked beans on the side.

While I was still a silly single, my roomate and I came up with a one-dish casserole with sausage. We would take a packet of noodles and sauce and when the sauce was thick enough we would add some frozen vegetables (usually the chunky style) and the sausage cut in to chunks. We would let this simmer until the veggies were done, about 20 mins.

We usually make it by splitting it in half and frying it with bbq sauce. Yummy!

Just treat it like you would a hotdog or sausage. :thumbsup2

I usually put it in things like Zatarain's jambalaya or casseroles. Sometimes we grill it on the Foreman grill or in a skillet.

I suggest putting on a coat and reopening the grill.

Slice it up; put it in a baking dish with 1/2 bottle honey BBQ sauce, 1 cup packed brown sugar, and a 20 oz. can of crushed pineapple. Bake it at 350-ish for about an hour.

Pour about 1/2 can of beer in a frying pan, slice up some onion, slice up the sausage into chunks, and fry all together. Serve with kraut and beans on the side.

We make ours 2 ways

First you can take it and cut it into pieces--Put it in a frying pan with some water add a can of potatos(you can get the cans where they are whole or sliced---I get the sliced because it cooks easier) let it boil down then add a can of chicken broth and green beans and cook until done.

Second we cut it into pieces put it in the frying pan with water and let it boil till the water has gone down then add bbq sauce and heat until warmed thru--this I serve with baked beans or tater tots and the kids love it!

I slice it into 3-4 part then put it into the crockpot with rinsed saurkraut and added water (cuts on the salt). I serve it with fried potatoes and green beans

Takes a little more time but this is delish!

Kielbasa - can also be done with sausage or ham too!
Head of Cabbage - shredded
Red Pepper (optional)
Bacon
1-2 Tomatoes
Small Onion
3-4 Beef Bouillon Cubes or 1 Can of Beef Stock
1 cup of water

Take some bacon (I usually do 1/2 the package) and brown it. Remove bacon from pan (this can be added in later if you wish but what you really want is the bacon drippings) Add onion to bacon grease and saute for a couple minutes. Add in kielbasa (sliced about 1/2" pieces) saute that for a couple minutes. Add in tomatoes (cut into cubes) and cover for about 10 minutes to reduce tomato(es) Add remainder ingredients - red pepper to taste, cabbage, cooked bacon if desired, boullon cubes/stock, and water. If you use canned beef stock omit water! Cover and let cabbage steam and liquid reduce - takes 10-15 minutes. You will have a tasty - as spicy as you desire - dish all in 1 pan. MY GF makes this and it is easier than it sounds and SOOOOOO good!

I slice it and put it in a skillet with a little water and saurkraut. Yummy...

For another day:

We get a bag of 15 bean soup, let the beans soak overnight. In the morning drain the water and put beans and a few cups of water in the crockpot on low. Around noon, cut up the polska and put it in the crockpot, along with the ham seasoning that comes with the beans. About an hour before you are ready to eat add a can of diced tomatoes............about the only thing I can cook in the crockpot!!!

We fry it with cut up potatoes and a side of corn. Delic!

2 lbs Kielbasa cut up into 2 inch pieces
6 tbsp spicy mustard
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 small onion diced

Combine all in a crockpot (be sure everything is evenly coated). Cook on low for 2 1/2-3 hours.

I like it served over rice.
