Poll: Would You Travel To Aulani?

We are west coasters so it’s about a 5 1/2 hour flight-we’ve been considering working remotely in Hawaii for a month if things open up. We go every couple years-my folks have two rotating months a year of Maui, and we could stay there cheaply. We much prefer Maui to Oahu but it’s be fun to add a few days at aulani to our trip since we’ve never been. We typically hit Costco and cook the vast majority of meals in our condo, and do beach and snorkeling-we aren’t particularly into tours and attractions at this point (did the few, like the Arizona memorial, on Oahu that we really wanted to see-DH has lived in Honolulu for a couple months a few times). Even if we were first-time visitors, Hawaii doesn’t really seem like a tour kind of place. Get in your rental car, drive to a beach and snorkel on your own, go watch the surfers on the north shore, etc.

We have been and I know ppl in Hawaii. I do not think we would enjoy it the way we do the islands enough to go. It is stunning though.

Only while we still lived on the West Coast, it's not worthy of more than a 5hr plus non stop flight.

We vacationed there one time, back in Nov 2011, when the resort first opened and only one tower was opened. I recall when of the cast members warned us "enjoy this resort now, as it will never be this quiet again". But with the lounge chair hunt and getting up early to get in the Aunty's Beach house, it was a bit much.

It was fun to watching the many weddings on 11/11/11 just days before secret service showed up swarming all over the resort preparing for Obama's arrival.
