How many people would like to work with family members?

I work with my dad, two aunts, cousin, and grandfather at a family-owned business. Works for me.

Me & my wife own a flooring business for over 19yr still going strong.

She works in the office doing all the bidding & paper work I work out on the jobs with our guys.

Works great we get along fine and do not over step our bounds.
I do not tell her how to run the office & she lets me work the guys as I see fit.

Been doing flooring for over 27 yrs :thumbsup2

Ron.

Is there an actual poll coming?

I worked with my brother for a summer and it almost destroyed our very close friendship. He's normally very laid back and fun, but I found out when he was my boss that he's nothing like that. As he's 3 years younger than I am, that was a little hard to get used to. We both wound up quitting when a slew of other things went wrong with the job, and just in the nick of time. Thankfully, we can joke about it now.

I would love to work with some family members (and do) and would dislike working with others. It definitely depends on the family member.

For about ten years I had one or two days per year when my wife worked for me. And it was never a problem.

I worked as an Election Officer in Fairfax County, Viriginia. For 12 years I was the Chief Officer in my home precinct. Since we tended to commute together, Judy decided she would also take the day off from her regular job and be an Election Officer also.

I treated her (at work) just as I treated the others, running a regular rotation of positions. The only unusual thing was on the way to the location in the morning I allowed her to select the donuts that I would buy for the team and she would not trust me to make the coffee since I'm not a coffee drinker.

And she allowed me to be the boss and did not talk back or anything and let me solve any problems which came up.

But again, this was normally one or sometimes two days per year.
