We had a 35% off at mods. that was saving us about $600. But free dining is saving me $1818! I never thought they would announce it this early. Yeah!

We switched for part of it. Staying for 11 nights and had a split stay room only discount booked w/ POP/CSR. Couldn't see myself staying at pop for 11 nights, so we compromised and did 7 nights FD @ POP / 4 nights CSR (Subject to change about 20 times within the next week, I am sure :lmao:) The thing is, we're going with friends who have a time share and we convinced them to stay onsite with us for a few days at the beginning, so we kind of have to go to POP first.

It's costing us approx. $500 more for free dining for the original ressie. LOL

But, we had a room only discount without a package because we had the GAD tickets. So, intead of using our tickets for entry and upgrading, we will use them for fast passes. Plus, the 4 table services we had scheduled were already up to $500 - now I can add in those extra character meals w/o cringing at the prices! :cool1:

I'm confused how folks are saving by switching from a pin code to FD. We booked CBR with a 40% pin code. I had the CM check the package with FD (vs. the pin code) and the package was about $100 more.....:confused3

Am I missing something?

Thanks,
Heather

I think if you have kids that are over 10 and are considered adults for dining, or you are in a moderate or value resort, FD is a better deal than room discount.

It all depends on how many people you have in your party (on the dinnign plan) and where you are staying. For 2 people I think the 40% off a DLX resort is a bigger savings than FD. It all depends on what you have. If you have 4 people all on thd Dinning plan it is prob a better deal for FD the a % of your room rate. Like I said it all depends. We are satying a a Mod had the 30% off and (2 adults on the DDP) and the FD offer saves up $360.00 morethat the 30% off the room would. Hope this kind of helps?? If not sorry:goodvibes

orginially booked Pop room as a bounceback last Dec for this May. Then changed when Disboards Podcast Cruise 2.0 was announced for this Dec 2010. I think it was a 20% room only. Then we updated to a 40% PIN when I go that last week. Then yesterday they announced the FD extension. So we switched and then upgraded to Reg dining. Still saved $29.00 :thumbsup2

We are at CSR & switched to FD. We only had the 30% off pin & we have four people all considered adults...so FD was better for us. :goodvibes :cool1:

Switched this morning from a bounceback rate at CSR to FD! All in all, the difference in price all the way around will give us dining for around $63 a day for 2 adults and 1 child. Figuring everything in, it was the way to go for us!

Gotta change my vote --
I made the mistake of calling...
We got WL rooms with dining for about 400 less than YC at 40% off...

I just had to do it... :(

I was just thinking about all that time I spent opening new email accounts, creating new accounts at the Disney site with the new emails, purposely misspelling my name on some accounts, relentlessly checking those email accounts day after day all in attempt of triggering a PIN. So...I end up with two, the 20/30/40 which I used immediately (I was SO excited!) to book a room only ressie only to get the 30/35/40 a couple of days later which forced me to again call to take advantage of the better savings and I changed to a package. AND THEN I DITCH IT ALL TO GET FREE DINING!

Now what am I going to do with all the extra time I have? ;)

I switched from the Poly with 40% off, package was $3900, to POR with FD, package was $2300. If I had POR with my % discount, it would've been over $3000 still. So, I saved quite a bit of money.
