Poll: Who is switching from room discount to FD?

Just wondering if a room discount might open up for me at the CR after all if people are switching from 40% off to FD. (CR has been sold out for my dates.)

We did! Dec 10-18 at ASMu, paid to upgrade to full dining.

I was playing around with it for myself (1 Adult, 1 child):
Rack w/ dining plan is $1849.25
Discount with Room (35% off) 1654.33
New rate w/ free food is $1513.41
Savings is $335.84 vs paying full price.

Cousin (1 Adult, 3 kids 10, 8, 7):
Rack w/ dining plan $2870.21
Discount 35% off room was $2681.68
New rate w/ free food is $2198.53
Savings is $671.68 vs normal rates

I booked back in April for our November trip with a 35% PIN, just switched to FD and saved a bit over $500 vs the PIN. Even figuring in the extra $ for TS tips, we're still saving way more with FD. (3 adults, 1- 10 year old Disney "adult")

Our dates are in the blackout times, so it is a no brainer for us, but even with, since it is just 2 adults, 40% off WL or free dining, the 40% gets us a better deal.

We made the switch, there are four of us. We are booked at CSR. My parents stayed with room discount. It's just two of them in a water view at BWV. Discount makes sense for them. Worked out great for both!!!!

I'd think most people would save more with the room discount (depending on the percentage, of course) than with free dining at the Contemporary.

I switched and saved $1,000!!!!!!! I orginally got one week 40% off and the next 20%. But free dining saved me even more! I love free dining!!!! Especially when I get Deluxe Dinning!

I switched from a 30% off pin to Free Dining. We (2 adults) are staying at CSR for three nights, November 30th - December 3rd. Free Dining is a better deal.

Free Dining was a better deal for us too. 3 adults, and 2 kids... saved us $800 over and above what the 40% off room discount was!

Ran the numbers -- 4 adults in 2 standard view rooms at YC 13-19 Dec, MYWPH tix with 40% pin comes to 4718. I can add DP bringing it to 5725.

Six nights rack rate with MYWPH comes to around 6014 (with insurance).

It's cheaper for me to add the dining plan to my room-only ressie than take advantage of FD. I'll call, of course, just to make sure, but right now, it looks like we'll be doing the pin discount on the room.

We're switching (this is if they have rooms available for our dates at AKL or CSR)

We're 3 adults so FD is saving us more money. And the fact that it's standard DP. We have 4 ADRs at buffets, I was thinking that's at least $20 per person, so right there is a savings of $240 just on table service. Then add the QS and snacks! Steaks and ribs here we come!

I made the switch today from Poly 40% PIN to CSR FD. I was planning to switch to CSR with the 35% PIN anyways, but FD was just iciing on the cake. I decided the monorail is not worth upwards of $1000 for the week. Hope we like CSR!

We switched, here are our numbers.
I am recording just our room, our oldest is always on grandma and grandpa's room, so for these numbers it is 2 adults, one "Disney" adult and a child. We were staying for 9 nights with 6 day base tickets and QSDP at a Value resort. Dates, Nov 20-29 (Thanksgiving week.)

Originally booked at rack rate- $3050.67
Applied PIN code- $2934.97 (not much of a savings, but I took it.)
Today, we applied Free Dining. We had to add 2 days (boo-hoo) to get in before the blackout date, so now we are there 11 nights from Nov 18-29 and our total is $2345.63. So we save $700+ and get to stay 2 extra days. Worked well for us!!!

We LOVE CSR! If FD is not available at AKL we will be changing for CSR (if rooms are available there). We are trying AKL becasue I always wanted to stay deluxe and DD loves that resort. She will be on when we arrive. See countdown.

I was on the 20% pin with deluxe dining at pop from dec 8th-14th Costing $2168 for 2 adults 1 8 yr old and my little guy is free since he is 2
switched to FD today changed our days to dec 10th-16th stayed with pop and deluxe dining and it brought it down to $1840. Save an additonal $328!!!! Im so excited!!!!!! doing some happy dances at my house!!!
