Is this your first trip? Do you want to stay onsite or off? More details would be helpful.

I always book my own air, usually Southwest so its very easy.

I sometimes use a travel agent to book the rooms at Disney, recently Dreams Unlimited (affiliated with THE DIS) and have been quite happy with their service. Doesn't cost me anymore, they keep any eye out for better codes and help make my priority seatings if I need them to.

It's the best of both worlds as far as I'm concerned.

IF you do use a TA for your Disney trip, make sure he/she is an expert on Disney. Otherwise you probably won't get the service and knowledge you require.

I've booked air and car myself, but have used Dream Come True Vacations for my Disney stay - they are Disney specialist agents, and have saved me $390 on my upcoming June trip by automatically applying a code.

Also, be sure to check out Dreams Unlimited, they sponsor these boards, I've heard great things about them too.

It depends on what Im doing. If Im going to add the Disney Cruise to my vacation plans, I use my travel agent because I add days to the Land part of my vacation. Now for my honeymoon this coming August I booked everything myself.

Is Travelocity considered a "Travel Agent"? I contact them all. 1st the Disney Line, then AAA, and then I check the internet for deals. When I booked our POFQ Dream Maker Package, I couldn't find anything cheaper than AAA. Even if I had had the code my wife recently found, I would have only saved about $120 on the 5 night stay, and that would not have included the Dream Maker "extras".

Yep, Travelocity is definitely considered a travel agency. They get paid a commission just like other agents, actually they get paid more commission on many things.

I voted travel agent and recommend Dreams Unlimited Travel that runs this site. I do a lot of things myself like deciding where I want to eat and what park I want to be in on what day and then I send my info to my agent by email. CATHY MILLER IS GREAT and quick to answer any and all questions!! :D
