I belong to Costco, but until I moved to FL I was a member at Sam's Club. Costco's food selections work better for me, the stores are cleaner and brighter, and the Kirkland store brand is fantastic. There's also a good selection of wine and beer.
The tipping point for deciding which one I'd get a membership to here was Costco's policies regarding their employees. Costco pays a living wage (according to the Wall Street Journal, their average wage is $15.97/hour), with health insurance, profit sharing and 401K plans available to ALL employees, even part timers. I'd rather support a company that treats its employees well than one which is widely known not to.
