We were upgraded to this room for a one night stay at WL (our "belated honeymoon" trip). It was our last night at WDW, and it was wonderful!!! Our balcony faced the MK and we watched the fireworks in our robes. We had a great tub - and we were already spoiled after 8 nights in a one bedroom at BWV (love that tub!!!). We ordered room service and had a picnic dinner on our bed, and they brought up a comp. bottle of champagne and choc. covered strawberries with a nice note. It was a great way to end our trip!!!

I voted AKL. It's our new favorite hotel and I don't think we will ever stay anywhere else!!!

I second the vote for the Polynesian -- how romantic!!!!!

I chose AKL because it's sooo nice. You can have a nice dinner on the balcony while watching the animals or dine at Boma's or Jiko's and sit in the lounge afterwards.

YC for the pool, long strolls on the Boardwalk, closeness to EPCOT and MGM (better for adults), wide selection of restaurants
within a 10 minute walk.

If you need to save $$'s PO Riverside, a masion bldg - romanic pathways, boat to DTD. But more children running around at the pool.

AKL - if you like animals and African story telling.

WL - too close to MK. Too many children.

Congratulations on your up coming wedding !

I too would vote for the Polynesian - it is absolutely wonderful and very romantic. That being said, my second choice would be the WL.

The AKL was wonderful and incredibly romantic! We stayed there for our 10 year anniversary. It is quiet, subdued and just peaceful. I loved sitting on my balcony and watching the animals it was so peaceful and serene. Great pool too.

We're staying at the Poly this year with our son. I think based upon all the raves, we'll enjoy that too.

Cant beat the location of YC or BW. To stroll the boardwalk after the parks close and run over to the BW for evening activities. Dancing at the Atlantic Dance Hall or entertaining Jellyrolls (dueling pianos) I just love the YC it is so elegant with all that rich wood. Rooms have beautiful views and the best pool on disney property.

:p It looks like they are all neck and neck! If you don't want to go Poly, which would be my choice also, then I would try Animal Kingdom Lodge. It sounds wonderful and exotic and you don't have your own kids to worry about its distance to anything. Have a magical Honeymoon!

Out of your choices, Wilderness Lodge would be my favorite, but my moderate choice would be Port Orleans, French Quarter, not Riverside. I think FQ is more intimate and more romantic than Riverside.

I did not stay here but Boardwalk Inn has some beautiful "garden" rooms that are behind and to the right of the center of the Boardwalk. If you are lucky enough to get a top floor, you can see rooftops and parts of World Showcase. The gardens around this area are beautiful and the feeling is remote and romantic. Plus you are near the Boardwalk area and, of course, Epcot, the adult theme park.

I'm surprised you did not mention the Polynesian, as I feel it is THE most romantic of all of the resorts in close proximity to a theme park. I honeymooned there in June of 1981 and try to visit for several hours during my vacations. The torches at night, the gardenia scent, the gorgeous large rooms, the new pool area, the great Kona Cafe and O'hana are all big +++s in my book.
Hope this helped--Wilma:smooth:

I would have to say a 1 bedroom at the BWV or BCV, if a 1 bedroom isn't an option then AKL, awesome, awesome hotel.

Since DW and I stayed there for our honeymoon in 98, I'd have to give the Yacht Club my vote. It's in the middle of everything, alot of food choices, the Boardwalk, and of course SAB!!
