Thought I would ask a separate, but somewhat related question regarding nighttime entertainment/activities. I definitely think they need more.

I do think they more night activities would be fun. After the adult show in the club, there really isn't anything else to do. The club clears out pretty quickly, they are cleaning the decks, the pools are closed. I'm not sure how many people would actually stay out if there was something to do, I get that excursions are always starting early in the morning, lots of sun and fun makes you tired, etc. I think we would definitely take advantage of late night activities though.

We are night owls, but I can see there is a need.

Maybe some late night games in the club or just some up beat music for people to dance to.

Maybe have some special cocktail offered late night. Or offer a fun group card game.

Maybe cocktails on deck and a stroll under the stars. Where you can met up by adult pool, offer a drink special a last call. And encourage people to take a night time stroll on the upper deck. Maybe have a guitarist playing music up there.

Have a very late movie offered, for night owls.

I could go on.

We like to linger over dinner (late seating) and sometimes don't make it out in time to catch the show in the club. So the only other activity is usually a movie. If we do catch the show in the club, we are among those that clear out pretty quickly. We aren't ones to dance to a DJ, never did enjoy "clubbing" so if we are going to just sit around and have a drink, we'll do it somewhere else. I know the Cruise Staff needs down time but it would be nice to have something going on a little later somewhere on the ship.

There is "Silent DJ" being offered on the cruises I have been on after the adult show and it has been well attended- it is a blast. I also have gone to some pretty late movies- my daughter and I went to see one in our pj's! Along with a bunch of others! LOL. We didn't get back to the cabin until around 2 am... Sliding right into bed... LOL

The problem with the last movie of the night in the Buena Vista theater is that it usually starts around 10:45-11:00pm, or shortly before the show in the club ends. So, you are not able to do both. They should push that start of that last movie back to 11:30pm or midnight.

I can't really check any of the options as I don't really do the nighttime activities - I hate comedians or magicians, I find their "game shows" inane, I don't do clubs. I entertain myself at night, walking around or finding a quiet corner to read or maybe listening to an instrumentalist or seeing a movie. But since I don't care about the stuff they have in the clubs, the timing works well for me with movies.

I didn't cast a vote, either, since none quite covered what I might enjoy. My wife and I aren't clubbers, either, and while we like the occasional game show style event, none of the other options--ahem--float our boat. However, as some suggested above, having the adult pool and hot tub open late would be a modest but appreciated step. I also like the idea of a games night where you could sign up to play spades, Monopoly (Disney, of course), etc. As for more "adult" entertainment like more dancing or entertainers, I'd say no.

Just for clarification, the question was simply do they need more activities at night - and not necessarily, do they need more "adult-oriented" activities. It is more about "when" than "what". Game night is a perfectly good example.

On vacation I always tucker out early. Swimming and being in the sun all day tend to knock me out.

This was me on our cruise - out of bed every morning around 6 AM...so in bed no later than 10 (sometimes 9) - also had a 4 yr old with us who is an early bird. I wish I would have stayed up late one night...but it didn't work out.

DH & I just got off the Magic and we noticed this as well. We had the late seating for dinner and it was rare we got out before 10:30. By that time, we've already missed the 1st adult show or activity. We usually got to see whatever the 2nd show was, but everything was over by 11:30. There was one night we did the Silent DJ party, but that was it. Even the bars closed at around midnight.

It didn't matter so much on this particular cruise (British Isles) because we were super tired from the ports and it wasn't like we were hanging out on deck at night (brrr!!), but it was enough for us to realize that nightlife is a big part of our cruise experience and DCL is unfortunately lacking a little in that area for us.

It does seem that the Adult entertainment is lacking. I agree there are many things that could be added to improve in this area. (Live piano bar for instance) Most times outside of whatever adult venue is hosting the adult activity all the other bar areas are pretty much dead. When we want to participate in the adult activity it is crowded as it's the only show in town, last few times I went to see an act in the Tube on the Fantasy (and I am guessing it's true for it's equivalent on the other ships) the place wound up standing room only. I stopped going to these acts because it was too crowded not because the entertainment was bad. On the other hand when I wanted a nice quit drink with my wife it was easy to find our own personal bartender. For us that turned out to be Ohh La La, we went in there most nights, sat at the bar, had wonderful conversations with the bartender who worked there about their home country (learned a lot about Martinique) and had a wonderful time enjoying each other company.

If I remember correctly there is a live piano bar on the Magic.

Is there such a thing as too much to do? I guess I don't understand why anyone would say "nah that's enough".

I mean at Disney World should they stop building new stuff now?

We usually go to bed on the early side, but I might be tempted by the pools and hot tubs if they were open later. Additional shows and club options wouldn't really by my thing late at night.
