Poll on Detroit Bailout--

I think you need an "other" because that's what I'd vote.

Wish you would have had an "other", also. Voted "yes" only because of the contract companies that are also suffering. The contract companies are usually non-union. Therefore, they don't get the "perks". If it wasn't for them, my vote would have been "no".

I think there could be a bailout with serious conditions and huge strings attatched. If we could bring the American auto industry into the 21st century that would be a good thing, but no use throwing good money after bad.

If there is a bailout, (LOAN), they need to file bankruptcy first. I do not want to throw more money at a failing business model.

It is supposed to have no "golden parachutes" for the CEO's, and be a loan. What other conditions would you like? (Stated curious, not snarky)

The big 3 are stating that the problems are from lack of sales, large pension pay-outs. The union voted down pension cut backs. Kinda' puts the big 3 in a pickle.

I think that they should be forced to change the entire direction of auto manufacturing and not make whatever they want. Clearly they've been spending too much time making bad decisions in that respect.

If they want the money, they should have to lose a lot of control over what they make.

I tend to agree, although I'd have to include the firing of all of the companies' top brass. If you're going to start out at square one, you've got to get better management.
