There has been a lot of talk about the new Magic Express. Let's see by the numbers how many folks will actually use it.

For us, we probably will because hubby brings his own ECV so unless they make the Magic Express buses wheelchair accessible, we'll get a private ride in the Mears wheelchair van for free!! Just no grocery stop, but with the savings we can live with that.

I'm pretty sure that many of the Magic Express coaches will have a wheelchair lift in the rear of the coach. As it stands right now, most of the VanHool coaches that Mears owns, as well as some of the MCI coaches already DO have wheelchair lifts in them...

However, for whatever reason, Mears likes to use the vans. While at Pop, I saw the vans all the time, but only saw the Coach lift once. Whether or not they continue to use the vans, that I do not know.

In the past I would have loved this feature. However, recently, we've used a rental car to go offsite for shopping,(DW loves  the outlets!) and less expensive dining.

With just my 11 y/o dd and myself traveling this coming June, using this would make life a little easier and cheaper. We would have traveled with just carry-ons and maybe doing a quick grocery stop. But if we can save $150 then we will travel with larger luggage and bring most food with us. We aren't too concerned about the time it will take to get to our resort. We arrive at OIA(MCO) aroun noon and can't get into our room until 4ish, so what's the hurry.

So, for us, on this particular trip, it would make sense. Now, if my dh were going that might be a different story. He really likes those towncars!! And if Disney starts charging for this service, it might be about the same for 3 people to take a towncar versus the shuttle. But, that's down the road a bit.

I read in another thread about the disabled access buses. If that is the case we will probably use the towncar van. The grocery stop is not a big deal, but the direct ride is a big deal to us.

I'd say "more than one of the above". I like the idea of using the service to save time and hassle transporting my bags to and from WDW, and getting checked in quicker for my flight home. But I'll still very likely rent a car.

We usually drive ourselfs but if we flew, then Magic Express would be a consideration. We could normally use it completely in one direction, but normally fly JetBlue, Song or Southwest for our quick visits to our new house so it stands to reason that we would use the same airlines if we were to make a trip that would allow us to take advantage og Magic Express.

DW and I are flying Southwest in 2 weeks for 98.00 RT (before taxes) will visit the mouse (Most likely EPCOT), but are planning on Sea World and maybe Busch Gardens Tampa (got AP's for them this Xmas)

We usually use a towncar, but for our adults-only May trip, we called today to book the Magic Express-it was easy and painless; the reservationist took down our hotel confirmation# and our flight info. and said that we will be receiving the designated luggage tags a few weeks before our trip.

If we like it, we will try it with the kids for our Fall trip as well. I'll give you the lowdown when we get back home. :D
