Since my husband and I catch "crap" from friends for going to Disney again and again even though we don't have kids, and we're apparently "too old" (I'm 44, my DH is 36), I thought it would be interesting to find out how many DISers are in the same demographic as us.

Are you a childless couple who frequents WDW? What is your age, if you don't mind me asking.

Does my 65 yoa mother taking her 43 yoa DD and her 38 yoa DS count? Don't know where to vote on this one.

Plus...I would go by myself!

I don't fit into the categories really either. We have a teenager who brings a friend to WDW, so DH and I usually are on our own. And trust me, we have a ball - we do character meals and everything. If anyone thinks we're nuts, so what? :rotfl:

My husband and myself love WDW more now than before. Our daughter is 19 and doesn't really care to go anymore (we're hopeing she will change). We also enjoy the character meals, plus it's cheaper! It's less stressful and we really enjoy our time together, after 19 years we feel that we're dating again.

MY HUSBAND AND I ARE 78 AND 74 YEARS OLD. HOPE THIS IS NOT OUR LAST TRIP TO THE WORLD. WE DO ALOT OF SITTING, PEOPLE WATCHING AND ENJOYING THE BEAUTIFUL FOLIAGE. ALSO DO MOST SHOWS. WE ENJOY THE RESORTS AND MOST OF ALL, THE EATING.

I guess we don't fit BUT we go twice a year and our DS19 has stayed home for the last 4 0r 5 years.

We have our children that we take to the parks. But when they grow up and either lose interest or are busy with their own families, I am thinking we will still go to the parks and enjoy them in more of an adult sort of way. I believe Disney is for people who like to have fun and use their imagination no matter what their age. :thumbsup2

Well, I have 3 kids but my husband and I went by ourselves for a long weekend in December. I loved it. I'm 39 and he is 46. Now, I'm trying to talk my sister into taking a trip with me.

Another thing to remember is that "mature" couples and singles have more disposable income once they've got the br-er, kids off their hands.
Woo-hoo! :cheer2:

DW and I are 51 with two grown DDs. One DD is a CM, so she travels to WDW with us. I'm sure DW and I will continue to go to WDW with or without our DDs as long as we can get around. I guessing in the long run there will also be some DGCs to keep us company.:earsboy:

Believe me, we intend on doing the same thing when we're in our 70's. Thanks for the reply - you're an inspiration.

We are both 45, with two kids, 17 and 14 who go to Disney with us once or twice a year. We go without the kids once or twice a year most always once during the Food and Wine Festival and then we try to squeeze in one other trip during the year.

My DH and I visited WDW "every year" ..since its opening in 71', sometimes twice, no kids.

DH passed away a few yrs. ago and we never got to use the DVC together :cloud9: but I still go...every year, sometimes twice with extended family and solo.

Yes...35 yrs. of visiting the "Magic", soooo many "beautiful" memories... and next week...WOA...I'll be turning 60 in body..but still 23 @ heart. :thumbsup2

Yep, this is certainly my "Life's Motto":
"people don't stop playing because they have grown old.....they have grown old because they have stopped playing"

I want to be like you when I grow up (I'm 41 now)

We are off at the end of the year for our 5th trip together, just DH and I. I am 32 and DH will be 30 :) Oh and in 2004 we took DMIL who was 60 :teeth:

Claire ;)

I'm 44. DH is 47. We have no children. We go to WDW twice a year and have for the 15 years we have been married.

We plan on continuing this for as long as possible. We have puchased the DVC, which we will have until we are 80 and 84 respectively. When that expires, we'll figure out what to do next! ;)

We are not childless, but the children are in their 20's and don't vacation with us anymore. We still go to Disney every year, at least twice. Our best trip there was the first time we took the kids (they were 8 and 11) and our second best trip was the first time we went without them (we were 47 and 48!). We love to be able to go where we want, eat where we want, ride what we want with no kids whining that they don't want to do that!!! We're headed back in 3 days for a 4 day visit, have a trip booked in early September and will be planning a long weekend in early December to see the Christmas lights and decorations.

Yes- we are 24 and 25. One day, we will have kids and experience the magic with them but for right now we are just enjoying each other's company. Disney has something to offer everyone.

Although I miss having children with us, now that we're considered a "mature" couple (50's), we enjoy WDW for different reasons. There's no more rushing to the parks. We only see and ride what we really like. If the lines are long, we avoid the attraction. Our meal times are adjusted in a way that we avoid crowded restaurants. In a few years, the grandchildren will be ready to go, so we'll start over, but for now we love just being together at our favorite place in the world. :)

I can remember when Walt Disney was on television talking about Disneyland. When I saw the tv program at the age of 4, I told my grandmother that was where I was going to live.
Well I don't live there, but both Disneyland and WDW are where I vacation.
I have been going to both for over 30 years and still have not seen everything, done everything or know everything about Disney. I intend to keep going, and going until I just can't go.
