We like 11-13 days at Fort Wilderness camping in a Trailer. The ticket prices are only about $2 a day more over the 5 or 6 day amount so why not stay longer if you can get the time off work. No additional gas is needed to extend it and that, for us, is a big one. We drive 1300 miles each way and want to make the most of it. The fort also gives us downtime so it's not always rush rush rush.

Our first trip was 11 nights. We looked at the ticket prices and the minimal increase to get a 10 day ticket vs. a 7 day ticket and thought why not.
The second trip was 8 nights.
This time we are again going for 11 nights. We like taking a nice, leisurely pace and enjoy our downtime by the pool.

Ten or eleven days is enough time for us, in fact I usually get cranky at day eight or nine, but if I go home around day eight I feel cheated :confused3 .

7 nights/8 days. By the 8th day, we are all tired! If we stayed longer, I don't know if we'd take it slower or not.

Paying for four plane tickets, I want to make it worth our while. I don't want to pay for four plane tickets and stay less than 6 nights.

My last trip was 6 nights/7 days. Any shorter than that and it seems like a race to get everything done with little guilt-free downtime, you know, we shouldn't be at the pool when we got 6 more rides at MK to check off.
With 8 days/7 nights you can spend 5-6 at the parks and 2 at DTD or water parks and still get a lot accomplished at a relaxing pace.
Our wedding/honeymoon trip was 10 days and that was perfect, but expensive.
We just purchased Disney Vacation Club at Bay Lake Towers and plan 7 night trips there quite often :)
